The point still stands. Give us tools. Those who want to use them will, and those who don't, won't. It's all about a choice. For all those people who want to spend time chatting, the tool won't change anything for you, or the people like you who don't want to just run and instance and move on.
I could buy it if it weren't such a huge epidemic. Not only do people not talk, people just roll need on stuff for the sake of rolling need, and why not, its not like their reputation might get tarnished. Or tanks fishing for last boss queues to get their daily badges, or people who zone in, realize what instance it is, and without a word drop group, sending you back to the queue.
Or people who pull the mobs and zone out leave group.

I don't sit there and talk much, but the common courtesy to say hi or check with people before you roll need on something or a simple thanks for the group are enough, but that's too much for the busy man who needs his instant gratification.

My point is I don't see how its so difficult for most of you to find groups. I don't even look for them, they find me most of the time. Other times I don't even have to say anything, I just help people nearby that are moving the same way I am and before long I'm being invited to groups and soon after running these flashpoints everyone seems content to stand around spamming general to finish.

Again, don't tell me how I should play a game. Ok?

I do talk to people. I do help people, I do talk in groups. I didn't say *I* don't socialize at all, I just said some people don't want that. When I want to, I will. Sometimes I just want to play. You can solo your way to max level EASILY, so how is Bioware making this a social game? Try EQ back in the day when you couldn't even kill trash mobs for exp without a group. Now THAT was a social MMO. Yes, I'd love to have AI bots run things with me. I wouldn't have to deal with the ignorant kids who think they are l33t and cool and try to tell me how to play the game. The same ones that say things like QQ moar and UMAD BRO?

I help people all the time. I answer questions in general, I show people where things are, and I give gear away to people who need it. Just because I don't want to group ALL day long and chat with people doesn't mean I am not social. I want the option to be social when I want, and just play alone when I want.

I pay my money each month just like you. If you want to sit and troll in general all day long, that's up to you. If you want to play with your friends and meet new people.. great. I don't care what you do, really, I don't. Why would I? I play for me, not for you, and I'd like to play how I want without having people tell me I have to do something a certain way because it's an MMO and you HAVE to talk to people all the time.

Believe it or not, it CAN be hard to find a group on a server with a low population of your faction at a time when most people aren't online. So.. I should play Imperial, on a server where most people will be on, just so I can find people who might want to run what I want to run. That sounds fair. It's a game. I don't want to change my life so I can run an instance.

As far as people being d-bags in groups. that is going to happen ANY time you PUG regardless if how the people got together. Yes, if you always play with "friends" you don't get boned. Well that's great, I don't have that option, so I guess I just won't get to run any instances because according to most people, that's how you do it.

People ninja things because they are:

1. stupid

2. a-holes

3. stupid a-holes

Welcome to the world of MMOs. WoW, Rift, Star Wars.. it's all the same people doing the same crap. I finally got over that, and now I just want to get things done. If I am going to get screwed, I'd like to get it over with so I can move on to the next group and hope it's better.

I couldn't agree more, human interaction is what makes MMO's what they are, removing it from the game takes away the essence of an MMO.

But the beauty of a server who's participants live and die by their reputation in the community is soon those people are the ones standing about wishing they could find a group. I don't want to be unfair in assuming you are a little fearful of being singled out by said community, but the thought has crossed my mind.

Yes. I've used the LFG tool and never, ever spoken a word to anyone.

Where does it say that when a group is formed via general spam chat or through a tool that people can't talk to each other? You really think that because I sat there for an hour spamming for a group that I will be more willing to be social? Please, think about that. People who don't talk, don't talk. It doesn't matter HOW you got into the group, or how the group was formed. This is common sense. The interaction doesn't START until the group is formed, so where is the logic that getting the group faster and more conveniently stops people from talking?

I'm fearful?

Wow.. talk about reaching. I am guessing you are just a troll... but I'll bite.

Yes, you found me out. I want a convenient tool for finding groups for the hundreds of instances I'll probably run on my eight characters so i can be a d-bag ninja and not have to worry about what some 12 year old thinks of me. I spend thousands of hours playing and building my characters so I can be hated by everyone I meet. Yes, I am a sociopath, and I came to SWTOR to spread my vileness.

Foiled again!

Nowhere, but the simple fact that it builds the group for you removes one more piece of human interaction than needs to be removed.

Don't think I really need to respond to this.

A lfd tool actually allows for more interaction with others since it allows you to group up faster.
If its cross server and they allow us to have cross server friends list then it even expands the community past the gated type of single server that has plagued the genre for years.
Cross server is the worst idea ever. You get a bunch of ninja looting *****holes with no accountability.

My vote is No, thank you.
