That really doesn't mean anything at all. The days of AoE cleave meaning anything in PvP are long dead.

Although the whole Lightning burst vs Arsenal argument is stupid. Classes should not be homogenized. Lightning's burst issues stim from the fact that in the current meta if a two of a burst class working together can't instantly global someone from 100% to 0% in less than a second then they are non-viable, simply because of the sheer amount of escapes, focus breaks, and other bullsh*t in the current meta.

I assure that if mercs are given an anti-focus ability akin to barrier sorcs are going to be clamoring for merc level burst in lighting alongside some sort of "**** you" ability akin to enet.

The arms race will be interesting to watch.
and as i said before one has NOTHING to do with the other. There is no logic that says if we get one we have to get the other... has any other class given up anything at all for their recent buffs?

Why do you think the classes with the best burst have the worst DCDs? It's balance bro.

Obviously not the best balance, but there is a relation between them

It will be armageddon.

It will be glorious.
Not if its just a decent anti focus button. Not a re tarded button....just a decent anti focus one. Not one that gives a second life or prevents everything for a few seconds....just one that incentivizes a target swap. I'd be fine if you could still stun them through it....just so long as they can survive for a while longer. I don't like the idea of just copy and pasting barrier over. I want them to have something else.

Only we dont have the best burst... not even close. Stop using that myth to justify your point.

i can easily outburst my merc on my PT and its all front loaded, a merc needs ramp up to fully power rail and heatseeker in arsenal and i/o doesnt have the same pop arsenal does.

Please stop with this nonsense it simply isnt true

you can't have that. when barrier was just barrier, it was junk too. sorcs/sages needed to actually be able to h2f in order to make barrier relevant. I'm all for not allowing the player to dps/heal while the ability is active, but if all you have to do is tap the person when the "barrier" ends, then you haven't done anything. you could say the person lived 8s longer on the average lifespan metrics, but that's not going to affect game play at all.

Just to reiterate what Floplag said, this is one of the most ignorant statements in this thread. Mercs do not even come close to the burst of Sins and PTs. They both have WAY better defenses than mercs do as well. Where is the balance in that sense?

Honestly not all sorcs get the H2F utility with bubble. Just saying... Forcing a target swap might be enough to at least make mercs relevant in ranked at least more than they are now.

To explain better, without H2F bubble utility, the sorc still takes zero damage when bubble is up and forces focus off them. Cooldowns on abilities become available so they can try to escape and heal up etc., they have instant heals and force speed which can negate slows etc., so it's not too hard for a sorc to help themselves heal up after bubble drops even without that H2F utility.
