Tl:dR: Fire the whole team and hire new people
Fire the whole team? Dude how would you react if your were working at Burger King pushing 16 hour days to pay for your children then after you mess up one order some random Dbag followed you home and threaten your family right in front of you???

I'm pretty sure your co workers would be scared of they heard that story and would react in a safer manner.

No where in my TOS and at no time, did I think that my sub pays for direct communication with the devs.

This is a game. You play it. or not.

If you want to unsub, you will. Or you will keep playing.

The devs dont have to tell us anything at all. I mean, It would be nice if they did, and it would probably be in their best intrest to do so. But they dont have to at all.

And threatening to not talk isnt much of a threat.

They did handle that wrong. But they dont really need to tell us anything so...meh.

If mara/sents suck, dont play that class, they will get the picture that their ideas are wrong when they have an Abandoned class that used to be the best class in game.

That stuff should have been handled internally and moved on from there.

They can do what they want, but handling things poorly, and basically telling a playerbase of which the majority have been upset since 3.0 to piss off is not exactly good business practice. The current version of watchman/annhilation spec is not popular at all. No one wanted it, they refused to listen to any feedback and ended up making the class worse. The backlash is 100% justified, and honestly, the dude should be losing his job. 3.2.1 is basically the end of watchman and probably the class in general given how they are screwing everyone over on utilities.
Pretty much agree with this. Except for the crash and burn part. For shame, Raansu. For shame.

Also, the post that caused all of this was kind of patronizing from that Dev, probably not the tone you want to take with an already upset subset of your playing community. Not to condone what anyone did after that, but wow.

I am an attorney and have had to help people who have had stalkers and other forms of violence. It only takes one lunatic to be serious and there is a tragedy. I'm sure it makes you mad that a developer won't cater to your whims about a video game, but no one should be expected to take harassment as a condition of their employment.

All the entitled victim blaming here makes me sick to my stomach. I hope all of you budding sociopaths doing this run into some real life lessons that teach you empathy. In the mean time, please, follow through on your threat and stop subbing.

I didn't take it as a "threat." It's just the logical alternative other than posting it. Whatever idiots that was pissed enough about this and warped enough to go to the extent they did; as much as they didn't like what the dev said, would anyone rather he just not say it and just did it?

That's the way I look at it. Frankly; as much as their responses to how they manage PvP here might piss me off about why they haven't done anything for over a year; I would still rather hear it and know whats going on to have an idea of what to actually expect other than nothing. It's unfortunate that some shady individuals might make it to where Devs are more hesitant to post, consciously or subconsciously.

Devs problems ARE our problems. its the same selfish attitude you just gave that created this issue to begin with. Yes 99% of threat are empty but how would you honestly feel if someone followed you home and stood outside your house? Huh cool guy? YA sure you prolly have a gun right? Blow his head off that's how you would solve you problem.
However this man outside your house has a gun to your daughters/sons head (pretending you have any) what do you do then??? How would your close friends react to this? Would you hate the persons family for thier siblings actions? Jeez the dudes family was Attacked bro can't you see that. Yes threats over the Internet but do you really wanna come home and have your children ask you about some retarded players theating over a video game?

These threads are getting out of hand.

John has no obligation to talk to us. Just like the chef at a restaurant has no obligation to talk to the customers. John talking to us was him going above and beyond, even if we didn't like what he had to say.

His family was contacted, possibly threatened, over a change to Sentinels and Marauders. You think his wife or kids give two ***** about Sentinels and Marauders? I wouldn't be surprised if John was touching up his resume as we speak to find a new job. I know, if my significant other's job led to that kind of harassment, I'd put some pressure on her to find someplace new.

And because of this, I will be surprised if we see any more yellow posts from actual developers. Sure, we'll still see messages from the Community Managers. But the devs? They're job is to code. Not deal with customers. And certainly not have their families harassed by customers. From now on, I expect they'll strive to remain safely anonymous.
