SWTOR PvP is more laid back IMHO because you aren't severely punished for losing.

I need an explanation from the people saying that this game being new isn't an excuse. The rational seems to be that "other games have already done it, so why isn't it here?". This is where I'm confused. I mean they have to build the game from the ground up right? There is no "current MMO code" that they can borrow is there? Did WoW become open source while I was sleeping? If not, all that coding and building and testing takes time.

How do you know what they have planned? How do you know whats on the schedule for PvP?

Better yet, what would be their motivation for ignoring PvP features people have grown to love?

"Hey construction dudes, you guys are idiots! I've been living in this cool house for years, and its got an awesome deck with a grill, and a pool and huge windows and stuff. Look at your house. It just has that stupid grey foundation. You shoulda just looked over here and seen all the cool stuff my house has."

For the record, Its been years since I played WoW, but I definitely had more fun in WoW pvp that here. Of course Ive only played a few weeks here and years and years of WoW.

WoW PvP at launch was awful. Hell, it took at least six months before the honor system was even in place. I remember being on Feathermoon (RP) Horde side, and being zerged at least 3:1 (on a good day) at Tarren Mills. It was my warlock and a handful of other brave players, vs a wall of hungry Alliance players. At least SWTOR has a valor system, and a couple warzones to hold people over. I hear there is also a pvp planet (Ilum?!?)

It will be interesting to see how the pvp in this game ripens and develops over the next few years. Only a strong player base will help it ever get there.

What WoW and "WoW in space with story" has as pvp is not really pvp, now is it? Daoc had pvp, Planetside 2 will have pvp, instanced 2 faction lag-fest/token-grind is not "real pvp" as far as I am concerned.

That said, as WoW's flawed pvp works and Swtor's flawed pvp doesn't...I'd say WoW's is better. If Swtor-"pvp" wasn't a complete lagfest, had more instances (instances...yeah, that's how they regard "pvp") and didn't copy 90% from WoW, then maybe Swtor would have been better.

I read that Mythic (the guys that made Daoc and then showed that they learned absolutely nothing from it by making the worst RvR-game ever) had "helped" BW with PvP, which would explain why Swtor's weakest point atm is the "pvp".

I like SWTOR pvp better , it has some bugs like the ability delay people talk about that frankly I have never experience but regardless of that , the classes are more balance , I don't kill anybody easily which is always a plus with me and nobody can kill me eaqsily either. Objectives are way more fun and interesting than in WOW's not to mention the maps and teamwork is actually encourage here.

I cant say much of world pvp but I have to say Warzones are really fun and enjoyable. Also the comment about WOW's pvp being more ''fluid'' I think its because of the auto attack that people are used to.I for one dont miss it.

Yeah, "pvp"-planet. Because nothing says "pvp" as much as doing pve-quests in a place that has pvp enabled...that's "real" pvp, right Blizzard? Oh wait, different game...it's in space now.

There are actually more than a couple of warzones, they managed to rush in three! So, three laggy instances and a planet where you do pve-quests, that's Swtor pvp. Anyone else disappointed?
