I think my time has come. After a short break, I re subbed, and have played a total of three days in that month. I'm just burned out. I look at my characters, and I don't want to hit play on any of them.

The game is also just kind of giving a "down" feeling. The quality, and quantity as of late has been pretty lackluster. I don't think anything Bioware can, or will do that will really be that exciting for me.

My taste in games has also changed. I'm much more into the linear story based single player games now. Endless grinding and farming just does not sound fun to me. I also have a very large list of games I want to play.

I'll probably come back once the Togruta release, I think that might be enough incentive to power through one of the two remaining class stories. But until then, I just don't see myself playing anymore.

Good luck though, I have had a very fun three years with this game. It will always be pretty special to me, as it got me into PC gaming, and introduced me to MMO's.

May the force be with you all.

Re subbed leading up to Shadow of Revan after being gone for about 5 months or so bought SoR and immediately regretted it.
I was not that impressed with SoR loved Rishi tho Yavin after 3 years of wanting that planet I was let down all those temples hardly nothing to do with Naga Sadow or anything.
The Ops meh they're good but copy paste add heavy aoe heavy fights.
Basically I'm burnt out on Swtor been here since launch I have no faith in the quality of content this skeleton crew can produce so I think my money is best left in my pocket.

89 pages at 10 posts per page = 890 posts.
Of those posts, not every one of them is someone stating they are quitting.
3 + 365 = 1095.
So we're not even at 1 post per day.

Not sure this is really a 'BIOWARE WAKE UP!' situation.

Its certainly a decent thread and helpful for those people who want to take the time and offer a well reasoned post for why they have decided to quit and what might win them back, but players leaving the game is a normal event as is new people checking something out based on a banner ad and the enticement of f2p.

If this thread had been started Monday, and arrived at these 89 pages of posts and they were all quitting notices and over the same reason.. then it might be cause for concern.
Considering that the majority of the complaints fall into the same categories and that players have to be pretty adamant about feeling they aren't getting their money's worth to speak up rather than just peacing out silently, I'd say it tells a lot about the current state of the game and where it's headed. Even players who continue to support it generally fall into the A-camp, still playing because it's Star Wars and this is their only choice, B-camp, still playing because of guild relationships, or C-camp, too new to know the monotony that awaits in end game and the horror that is end game PvP.

Players have been very detailed about what they like and dislike and BioWare has been less and less active about acknowledging or responding to the issues. I go onto the GW2 forums, devs and mods reply to simple threads thanking them for the game, congratulating players for finally getting extremely rare items, and responding to player issues on a regular basis, often daily. I see the same on other gaming forums. Even when ESO was having it's mountain of issues the devs were in existence, if not always as quickly as the players would have liked.

This game is on a swift tilt in the wrong direction, and the way it's being handled doesn't bode well for that changing. 99% of the dev posts showing up now are patch mentions or incoming CM items. The community support personnel is not supporting the community, the devs are ignoring the players, and this game is nothing of what it should be at this point. The sub cost isn't an issue for me, but I pulled mine because I refuse to support a company that has no interest in giving its customers their money's worth.

Ever since the beginning of 2013 new dev posts have been nothing but CM posts or patch announcements. The community support personnel has never supported the community since they always have been biased toward Biodrones and their posts and reports, and devs have been ignoring us ever since they removed Ilum and delayed ranked WZs.

I have a list of things I dislike about swtor, and I have been playing it since beta. I'll only point out the most obvious ones for me. I know, a few more than 5 reasons, but there's just too much for me to actually decide which 5 I'd prioritize (I apologize in advance for that).

- Connection issues:
I get sudden disconnects that happen from time to time. And no, my internet connection works just fine. I have a very good highspeed internet connection, I can have several things running while playing (Spotify, Mumble, Downloads, Netflix etc.), it's only the game that gets server lag of 100k (even if I have only swtor running). That happens quite too often for a game I pay for.

- FPS
I don't know why, but I get incredibly low fps (9-12 average) when playing 16 man ops, and I only have that problem with SWTOR, I can play Battlefield 4 in warzones or Dead Rising 3 on max settings without getting something close to a laggy performance. Back to 8 man ops, I have somewhat like 40-50 fps (with occasional drops down to 21). And I don't think that my computer just can't handle the "awesomeness", no other game (no matter how hardware hungry it is) makes such problems.

- Left outside alone
LVL 60 players can not use Group Finder for old ops (TfB, SaV etc.) or certain Flashpoints like KDY anymore, they need to spam general chat on fleet to get a group running. For me it feels like I get punished for reaching level 60 on any toon, because I like the old ops way more than the new ones. I don't know what brain dead imbecile had that brilliant idea, but it doesn't even make sense at all (imo).

- The new ops are not really melee-friendly
And I mostly play melee classes (this is just how I personally feel about the new ops. I have the feeling that all bosses are just jumping around and it's a pain to run after them during most of the fights. DPS of course suffers from this).

- The Conquest system itself is just *********** stupid (imho)
The 10 "best" guilds get a reward, the rest is left behind. Mostly it's just the guild with the most members/conquest participants winning. Small guilds have absolutely no chance to compete and whoever wants to go for achievements is pretty much forced to guild-hop like a frog. There has to be a better way and also a chance for smaller guilds to get something out of conquest events, otherwise it's pretty pointless. I don't see why it would be fun to always have the same guild conquer a planet. There's one guild always getting 1st place on my server (with about 10 Mil. points, 2nd guild has about 8 Mil. followed by 3rd with 3 Mil. and the others are somewhere between 800-500k) and a lot of guilds who will never get anything out of this event. And no, I am definitely not jealous, I just don't see how BioWare thought this through.

- Friends list is not updating
Sometimes I see that I have 2 friends online. When I open the tab to see who, it tells me that all my friends are offline. It also works the other way round: on the fleet and in guild are people online, but apparently no friends, until I open the friends tab, then I see 1 or 2 of my friends online. The game has been out for more than 3 years now and this is still not working??

- Events
Certain Events seems to take place every 100 years (Gree, Rakghouls) while other events (Bounty Hunter Week) are up every month (I know that it was always known that the BH Week will happen on a monthly basis, but this just makes it boring as **** while it feels like other evens never happen. For me it feels like I haven't played the Rakghoul event for a year (even though it has "only" been 4 months...). And I have been fed up with the BH week for months now.

- The Customer Support / Ingame Help
****, where do I even start with that one? So far I have submitted 3 tickets to CS, the first of them 4 weeks ago. I reported an email spammer, someone who harrassed the **** out of me and last but not least I reported a bug. All tickets are still open and have never been reviewed, not even in 4 weeks. The 2 players have not been punished yet and are still free go offend whoever may cross their path. And I can not even manually close the ticket, I always get an error message when I try to do that. I feel really appreciated as a subscriber...

- Pathetic "rewards" for subscribers:
Yes, this is something that bothers me. Subcribers pay to play, they are the reliable money well, and a little thanks from BW to show them that they care is always appreciated. But why on earth do they come up with incredible ******** that makes me feel screwed over on the other end? I would never complain about any mount, color crystal, companion customization, emote etc. as long as it's really something unique, it doesn't even need to be cool or something superduper-awesome. But what's coming up on march 29th? A black-purple color crystal......jesus, how long have I had one of those already? 2 years maybe? Doesn't that one drop from every Terror from Beyond Operation? That is just the dumbest reward I can think of.

- The Rishi Datacrons
This was the last straw that broke the camel's back. The Dulfy guide for the Rishi Datacrons (published: December 2nd 2014) mentions that there is a bug at the final stage of getting them (a *********** rock that sometimes is not clickable, but you need to click it to get the datacrons). To even get to this part involves hours of farming elite enemies that have a chance of 5% to drop, and that can only happen every 4 min 30 seconds. I don't wanna bore you with details, you can check Dulfy or other guides to see what else is involved in getting the Datacrons (it's a lot and takes forever). Well, this issue was known even before Shadow of Revan was released on public servers, and it's still not fixed. Yeah, they will fix a lot of **** on Rishi with Patch 3.1.1 but not the datacrons. They are more worried about fixing ****ed up facial expressions in cutscenes (it only concerns cutscenes ffs) than fixing game- and funbreaking ****. Jesus, I have had cutscenes where I can not see my characters headgear (I still have!), yet I don't care as long as it's only in cutscenes and the rest of the game works. Apparently, BioWare thinks different....

Long story short: I will not renew my subscription.

FYI:
This is just my personal opinion and how I see the game through rose colored glasses that makes my little world shiny. So there's no need to become personal and offensive if you disagree with any of my points. This is just what killed the fun for me.

So, after playing for four years..and putting up with ********, after ********, after ********... I'm finally throwing in the towel. I'm done caring Bioware. I'm done funding a company that is either too lazy, incompetent or stupid to fix MMO bugs that crop up REPEATEDLY.

I'm done funding a company that tells you one thing on one hand...whilst ******** in the other hand and giving it to you to eat (Slot Machine situation, granted I never used the Slot Machines while they were exploitable...but I still think it was a stupid idea from the get go.)

I'm done funding a company that has no teeth whatsoever when it comes to punishing people. I've been "warned" so many times without a ban its *********** hilarious (on the forums mind you.) And the Ravagers exploit? You guys sure handled that one well. I mean, I never exploited it once...but I sure was laughing my *** off when players got little to no punishment whatsoever for exploiting. I also found it humorous that you announced it to possibly one of the most toxic MMO forum communities first, DAYS BEFORE ever actually doing anything.

Genius move there forum team! Oh dear, I critiqued the staff of the forums...oh no.. I'll probably recieve another "friendly warning" e-mail in my inbox later today! *gasp* Or maybe I'll get banned again (for a whole three days...oh boy.. I'm sure terrified.)

But no, the final straw that broke the camels back...probably as silly as it is...is the fact that I have had to not once, not twice...but close to five times report the same game-breaking bug on multiple toons. This morning, as I was loading in to pick up items for my guild to craft some stuff my main character got locked into an infinite loading screen. Yet again. The very same loading screen issue that has affected my Operative three times previously, and my Juggernaut now two times at current count. My Juggernaut is now out of the race Conquest wise for today...or however long they take to repair it. So yeah, I've given up.

This is also continued from the post in the Customer Support Forums:

Quote:
WillCaedes
This has got to be the fourth or fifth *********** time I've had to deal with a character locked into an infinite loading screen over the course of the four years I've played this game. This time the bug has affected my main character that I use to deal with guild matters. Thanks Bioware, I'm so glad you're on top of bugs like these (that I've reported 4 to 5 different times on various characters).

So you know what? I'm done. You lack the care to fix game breaking bugs such as these? Okay, then I lack the care to re-enter my credit card information to renew a subscription. I could launch into a whole other spiel as to why I'm done giving a **** about what Bioware does but I think I'll save it for the unsubscribers thread in the General Forums.

And before anyone considers saying "You're being too harsh, wait and let them fix it!" I direct you to the last sentence of the first paragraph, read that and let it sink into your mind.

Here's another frustration, what if this character was the GM of a guild? Or what if my guild relied on my toon to do massive crafting Tuesday mornings for Conquest objectives? Or what if I relied on that toon as my competitive edge in conquest via FP's or PvP? This bug has effectively shut me down for however long Bioware decides to take to get around to fixing my toon.

Please do not suggest "You can just do it on an alt!" either, I do not WANT to do conquest on an alt. I want to do conquest on the toon that I have spent time honing to do the things I want with it.

So yeah, I'm done Bioware. Not that it matters but hey, frankly you deserve a rant or two for all the **** you've shoveled down your customers throats since 3.0 went live. I'm still sour about the 20$ beta test I participated in back in December of 2014.
So yeah, my card and PayPal information are gone (manually erased, I don't trust Bioware at this point). My interest is waning, and my hatred for all things Bioware is brewing at this point. *shrugs* Oh well, that felt good to get out...liberating even.

For me, the updates and the players are killing the game.

1. Extra missions for each class are becoming HEROIC+4 missions, and most people will not team with others on the planet to complete them. These missions need to be dialed back in difficulty so that newer players can complete them.

2. There is a lot of negativity from players in this game, and that really destroys any reason to play. For example, when a player goes into a flashpoint mission that he/she has never played before, they get harassed by other players for not knowing anything about the mission.

3. Monetary rewards in the missions need to be increased dramatically. Between extremely low reward yields and overpriced items in the Galactic Market, most of the decent items to be had are too far out of reach for most players for far too long.

4. PVP modes - ALL PVP modes need to be retooled so that a brand new player entering the PVP arena for the first time is not put against players who have maxxed out stats. This is prime retardedness at its finest, and I am coming to expect nothing better from whomever is royally screwing this game up.

Truthfully, it never fails. Every time a decent game comes out, developers constantly screw with it until it is no longer worth playing. The same thing happened to PotBS, EVE, STO, and a host of other games.

Developers....QUIT F'KING EVERYTHING UP, MORONS!!!!!

I contemplated not writing one of these, but decided to post in this thread after all. (At least I'm not making my own thread. )

I've been here since the weekend betas, and played this game consistently for over three years now, starting my first character on the first day of early access about 15 minutes after I got home from work. I've survived the shaky launch, abandoned servers, mergers, FTP conversion and every patch since, and I've managed to find enjoyment in the game at every turn, but today is my last day as a subscriber.

This isn't a rage quite. No single incident in recent or distant memory made me suddenly decide to stop paying and playing. It's more or less been a gradual build as I've finally exhausted my personal enjoyment. As I look through all the areas of the game, I just don't see one to move into to get the fun back.

So although it doesn't exactly line up with the original "5 reasons" request, here are my "5 areas" of SWTOR I feel I've exhausted myself on.

  • Story, a big staple in SWTOR, has failed to keep up my interest due to the merging of 8 individual class stories into a single unified storyline across both factions and all 8 classes. I understand the reasons, and recognize the original vision was just not viable, but that doesn't change the fact that there's no longer enough content to keep even a dedicated casual like myself going.

  • PvP, although fun in short bursts, has never been deep enough in SWTOR to hold my interest. So although I've started many a toon on the valor grind, I never exceeded level 60, and instead get my PvP enjoyment mostly from other games.

  • GSF - Once a great hope of mine to rejuvenate the game, it's more or less dead due to neglect. I still enjoy matches when they pop, but I'm realistic enough to understand it is all it will ever be now, and I find that sad.

  • Raiding\Achievement grinding has always been a social thing for me, meaning I enjoy them only when playing with friends and/or guild mates. (See below for more.)

  • Social - Although this is more of a combination of all of the above, my current guild has more or less fallen apart recently, and I find I no longer have the energy to go looking for another active and fun guild I can play in.

With no new major content or systems upcoming I just don't see any area worth my sub rate. I've always said I would continue to pay, and play, The Old Republic until it was no longer fun, and for me, that's now. I've enjoyed my three years, and begrudge Bioware not one cent I've spent on the game, but I think I'm done. I may still log in and play from time to time, and you never know, someday something might grab my attention and bring me back in, but I don't expect it to happen. Not this time anyway.

Thanks to Bioware, all the great players I've met and even to the forum community (really!) for the fun and enjoyment. It's been a good ride.
