Statement: There is also a huge difference between a movie and an MMO. Making a movie can be done with ease. A game cannot. It takes years to plan the game. Then it takes years to make it. Then it takes years to add to it while fixing it and balancing it out all at the same time. All because of one simple thing, code. Game code is far more complex than any special effect in a movie.

making a movie is easy? a real movie, not you in the back yard with a cheap video cam. how many have you produced again?

and code is harder than movie special effects? you have obviously done neither.

as for being rude, trying to hide it behind wanna be rp dialog style does NOT make it polite. practice what you preach.
I have been playing since release and have watched bioware go down hill. they have serious upper management issues that need to be addressed. with yesterdays cancellation of shadowrun I fully expect to see layoffs. before you comment, no that does not make me happy. I have been laid off before and it was not a fun experience.

I appreciate the mini-update, but not even a bullet point for GSF?

Like, I'm not trying to sound sky-is-falling alarms, but 2015 is a whole year dude, is anything happening for GSF?

The writing has been on the wall for GSF since they cancelled the Infiltrator (sorry, "delayed indefinitely") and the only thing they've said for ages about supporting it has been tweaking the Requisition rewards. Pretty sure what you see is what you get for GSF at this point.

If they have a half-finished map laying around somewhere, maybe they'll release it - but I wouldn't even count on that much.

Quick interjection here mate, yes code is harder than any movie special affect. Want to know why? Because adding to existing code can cause anywhere from something easy like a small crash, to something insanely hair-pulling annoying like one new line of code causing existing and functional processes to no longer work despite the new line of code having nothing to do with it. If your'e not careful and deal with any changes carefully, you could lose existing work. Now I've personally never dealt with editing existing code that is being hosted via server. I can only image how much more difficult that would be.

Having said all of that I highly doubt that editing in special affects during a movie production is more difficult than adding in new content into an existing online game. There are just too many variables to deal with in the online world. Add in a large amount of fans that constantly want their own version of new product within a constrained time limit and you have a potentially unstable mess on your hands.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning all of Bioware's decisions. For example they should have launched SWTOR with the Legacy system/Group Finder/more content, but they didn't and they've gone FTP to keep the game up and running. The Cartel Market was a great addition in that end, nothing on there is required to be good at the game (save operation and flashpoint passes), and it mainly consists of cosmetic items.

Maybe I don't see the same things you do, but I don't see Bioware going down hill. If anything the newest expansion, Shadows of Revan, has given me more confidence in the game. I'm glad to see that quality content is winning out so far in the FTP version of SWTOR and I hope they keep that up. I'm not a PVP person by any means, but I can understand that competitive gamers want to see more of it. So for those folks I hope they see some PVP content in the future.

Either way game on.

Only thing one can expect for GSF is what they did last Summer: increase the number of requisition and commendations you gain from matches and weeklies respectively.

Other than that, the writing is on the wall for that one: they pretty much abandoned it, same way they abandoned the on-rails space missions for example.

* sigh *

The number of unsupported features this game has is growing, every slightly, year after year.

Maybe the other update for this year is a massive update towards Space PVE and GSF.
