I liked how I was finally able to get one of the few "Cartel Market Only" reputations to max with the Contraband Slot Machine.

Please don't let the complaints of people on the forums prevent you from releasing other slot machines that give reputation tokens for other cartel market only reputations.

/Agreed.

But I hope they limit the releases to one per Shipment so that they can be spaced out to around a full year after the associated Reputation's Packs were embargoed. The Acolyte's Pack with the Contraband Slot Machine came out one year, almost to the day, after the last Contraband Pack was embargoed.

I feel like that long of a gap will keep the Machines from cutting too much into the incentive to grind the new Reps as they come out, while still providing a nice option for people who 'missed the boat' on the older Packs, or at least never maxed out the Rep.

/Signed I loved being able to finally hit legend. I'd been sitting at Champion for so long. I'd love to see more released in the future! That way I can have an entire game-room in my house, ha!

I'd love some more slot machines.

However, I think they'll be about as willing to release more, as they would be putting a gun to their own heads.

I would support this if they completely remove scrap from the loot tables.

Until then I would rather not see any new machines.

They have effectively removed scrap from the loot tables. To be honest, they've pretty much removed everything from the loot tables apart from the rep tokens

Yeah, I'm a sucker for slot machines. As long as future machines are marketed as 'Reputation' machines instead of 'Material' machines I'm good

I'm not interested in any more slot machines unless they add some interesting drops to them that you have a chance of seeing. i'd rather they just let us outright buy the rep items, since how the machines currently work that is essentially all you are doing anyhow.

With the current implementation, yeah, might as well. As it is right now you can get, what? One drop that isn't a rep item for every 500 or so tokens purchased and churned through the machine? (I think that's about what the numbers I've seen people post have shown.)

Yes, Jawa scrap was ill-conceived at the drop rates they had on the machine initially. I'm not convinced that it's a terrible idea to have the scrap on there at all. (I think most of the blame for the way that (purple grade 11) materials prices imploded lies with the overgenerous pricing scheme that makes any one unit of scrap a magic super material that can be converted just as easily into something cheap as something rare. That's a problem with the way the Jawas were set up from the start. (Scrap should have come across as more of a currency. You don't convert a unit of this into a unit of that. You pay some number of units of this to purchase a unit of that.) The addition of grade 11 materials to their lists plus the massive scrap stockpiles that people already had saved up plus the massive scrap stockpiles that could be generated quickly with the slot machine... Recipe for disaster.) But they could have taken more care balancing scrap drop rates to reflect what they were actually worth to people.

And the machines do need plenty of other possible prizes to distract away from the rep and the scrap (which would give the machines some perceived value to keep people spinning away at them). The fact is that rep items hold little to no perceived value for us. (It's kind of good if you don't have that reputation maxed out yet but it's annoying vendor trash after that.) That leaves the Jawa scrap and the certificates and this newly added super rare mount as the only real prizes on the machine right now, and as I understand it they all have a combined drop rate of under 0.5% right now.

There's no appeal to ever use the machine at all in this case. All you're really doing is buying a stockpile of vendor trash that will get you about (I'm guessing) 25% of your investment back at the current token price and rep item drop rates. Don't forget that the loss rate is 45% (up from 25%) so you can expect to lose about 45% of your investment just for that alone. 20% of spins are re-rolls. So... 34.5% of spins are a rep item. A lot of that will be green rep, some will be blue rep, and a small amount will be purple rep. (I forget what people reported as the exact proportions of those drops.)

Let's see... Suppose we spend 75k on 100 coins. About 45 or so coins turn into a loss. About 34 or so coins turn into a rep item. Most of the remaining 21 coins turn into re-rolls which can lead to a few extra losses and a few extra rep items. So let's call it about 54 losses and 42 rep items. Let's be generous and assume the remaining 4 coins turned into some combination of scrap / cert / walker (even though that's 8 times the drop rate for such items). You might be getting... oh... I'm estimating 40k back when you vendor the rep items (that's definitely higher than my 25% guess), but I made up the proportion of green/blue/purple since I don't know offhand what's actually dropping. With those numbers, in the end you spent about 35k to obtain whatever those 4 items were (might not even be purple scrap or certs, could just be green or blue scrap).
