By that logic, only Smugglers should be allowed to wear vests.

And that matters how exactly?

Any casual star wars fan would think of Han Solo's vest and blaster pistol when you ask them the characteristics of a smuggler.
Does that mean only smugglers are allowed to wear vests and use blaster pistols?

Oh look, ninja'd.

By the logic of Mr. Spock, Sherlock Holmes, Prof. Moriarty and all other famous and infamous logicians, real and fictional, they all fall under the broad category of "equipment."

I'll play your game for second as if you are not just trolling:

1. Light sabers require a certain affinity with the Force to use properly.
2. Jet packs are technological equipment usable by anyone who can read the instructions and sign the proper waivers.

By your own logic, yes.

Jetpacks require no special skill to use.
Lightsabers do.

By your logic...

You know what screw logic. SW logic was already slim before Bioware came along by negating some lore for pure aesthetics

We have people running in bikinis, thongs or nearly naked in a combat zone in blistering heat and or below zero temperatures or soldier wearing jedi robes. We have sith purebloods and chiss running around as republic citizens. I think giving every character a piece of equipment is hardly the worst offense to lore this games done.

Implying you need to use the force to pick up a lightsaber. Rofl.

Not pick up. Use effectively.

If it didn't require the force to wield effectively, everyone would be running around with lightsabers.
