Assassins need an actual hard counter, or some tools removed from their kit.
That is a fair assessment. The benefit only applies to hatred. Middle tree sins, and ops, eat me for lunch. I also conceded that many of the hatred sins I face are likely garbage and are hoping to ride the spec to an easy kill. I main a commando, but I do have a 60 shadow and I have run him in tranquility to see how good it was. I was surprised at how smoothly the class ran. The dot spread was nicely integrated into the single target rotation. The same with self healing. I was able to easily do more damage and healing than I can get on the commando with sizable protection to boot. I wish BW would make other classes run this smoothly. The commando dot spread is a joke, requiring the use of abilities not found in the single target rotation. I have to decide if I want to damage single target, multi target, or heal. The shadow runs the same rotation for all three and accomplishes a superior result with less variation or decision making, with self and group damage reduction on one button.

This may sound like a joke, but i am serious. The lag in PVP can actually help stealth classes on the opener. I have had sins and ops open from stealth in a pitched battle and get me to 50% before the engine renders them on the screen. I can't click or tab target them until I eat the opener. I have to pop cooldowns and hope someone peels before they finish me off. That may not be intended, but it is a real advantage.

That's just your pc being slow, unless you have a <50kbit internet connection.

My computer may well be part of the problem. I know that I am not the only one who has issues. Eric wrote an apology for the lag and poor performance after 3.0 dropped. The issue also applies with other melee classes. Range stops being an advantage when it can be closed before you can target the opponent.

I have never experienced anything nearly as bad as what you described. I usually get about 55mS ping. When 3.0 dropped, there was ability delay that I did not notice prior, but I've never been taken to 50% health before I could even see the player. That's super bad. I honestly don't think I would keep playing under those conditions.

It is not the typical experience, but it does happen when I get too many people on screen. Especially when they are spamming lightening storm.

Can you please elaborate a bit more and explain what is white damage? In the meantime I am running to rebind thrash on my sorc.

White damage is none of the sorts a counter to sins. I'll take on any Sniper, any Combat Sent and laugh at your face when I have 50% or more hp left as you die.

1v1 there isnt a counter if Sin gets opener, and really wasnt pre 3.0 either with the exception of hybrid juggs. We need to choose a direction I think because now im confused. Are we talking duels or group setting?

You dont really duel in arenas so I may be missing something but countering sins in ranked and matches of the sort is a heavy white damage class. On harbinger people have found alot of success with MM snipers, havent seen double GS yet but GS and guardian, Sorc Sniper, and so on.

If you are 1v1ing them alot has to do with the other players skill. If you are by far better than them you will obviously win, if it is close a good string of crits times right could tilt the battle. Lots of variables when 1v1ing.

Despite what exilove says first opener wins. If my opponent stealthed out and got his opener on me I can stealth and get a second opener, maintaining my health advantage.

I think you guys are proving my original point 500 posts ago. This spec is OP as can be.
Would you agree that we have at the very least identified the following traits about the hatred assassin:

- They are the best 1v1 class in the game. Nobody can outduel them at equal skill.
- They also have the best AOE pressure in the game with 30m auto-crit deathfield and hard-hitting aoe dot spread that self-heals
- They have extremely strong DCD's
- They have stealth

Can we at least agree on the above 4 points?
If you agree with those 4 points. Can you also at least agree, without actually having to admit that the spec is OP, that the facts listed above make for an extremely strong combination?

I personally think it is too much.
