Been playing this game for 2 years running. Not once have I ever been, "scammed" buying something on the GTN. And I am essentially blind in my right eye and not the best vision out of my left. I know you may feel as though people are being a troll to you, but it really is as simple as being careful. You can't expect the developers to take the time to come up with more safeguards because people occasionally pay more for something than they believed they were paying. They are far too busy not coming up with solutions to major issues.

It's funny how someone can glance at something, and what they think they see at first is not what is there at all. If they're in a terrific hurry, they'll remain thinking they saw what they think they saw at the first glance and make decisions based on that false perception.
Boring conversation anyway.

Why was that person in a hurry? Is there an achievement for buying things at high speed?

If not, then refer to the first question. Why the rush? Taking the whole second to check the price is worth the whole second. Maybe even just half a second is long enough.

Wait-wait, allow me to guess, "Someone else might purchase that same one I was looking at when I took a whole second to check the price!" Very, very, very rarely to I ever see the GTN's lowest price alter between a few hundred from the next lowest price, not on the things people would usually buy stacks of.

And if you're about to log off, you can still take your time. The GTN isn't a raid where getting up to take care of biological necessities can mean the difference between completing the raid, or getting kicked.

It's something you do everyday in real life. Check the price tag before you commit to the purchase.... So, what makes it different on the GTN? Or did I miss something?

...
The same reason that people try to beat yellow lights. Which is a $479 ticket, and believe me, that's not worth it ... but people still try to beat those yellow lights, it's just the human behavior that tends to emerge. Very predictable, and can be planned for, to handle it appropriately ahead of time before it happens.

Except speeding through a yellow light that's already turned red can result in terrible events that can be fatal. Speed-clicking in the GTN like these "victims of this evil scam" have admitted to doing can only have the worst case scenario be lost credits.

The yellow light is a combination of reckless self-absorbtion, "sticking it to the man", nd the adrenaline rush. Is that why GTN speed clickers speed click? What man are they "sticking it to"? Where is the adrenaline rush? I could see the reckless self-absorbtion, but the numbers are already repeated on the popup, in bigger print.

There is no justification. If you speed through a red light, you get fined and potentially cause a fatal collision. You speed click through the GTN and don't pay attention, you can only lose credits. And maybe be upset at yourself for a little while, or claim you were "scammed" to cover up your own error.

As a pedestrian who has been hit by a car at near fatal speeds, I fully expect vehicle drivers to be held responsible for their own actions. There is no excuse for reckless driving, none. You're late for work/school/family event? You should have planned better. You're drunk/high/under the influence? You should not be behind the wheel. You're wife/girlfriend/sister/daughter/mother/etc has breaking water? Why did you not call for an aid car for the fastest way to the hospital?

First of all, it's not a scam per se - according to BioWare themselves.

Second of all, one need not have to be constantly on guard every time they use the GTN - they just have to be cognizant of what they are looking at. I, for one, have never felt one ounce of stress when using the GTN.

Third of all, this is a game. If using the GTN causes you concern or stress, perhaps it is best if you find a new hobby instead.

Lol. But this is essentially a non issue, so the wsy Bioware does things, they probably will
