Is it despicable? Is it naughty? Does it reflect someone who is trying to play on other's stupidity?

YES YES YES

Is it illegal and a scam?

NO NO NO

A seller can list whatever they want at whatever price. The chances of them selling is lower than someone buying due to being stupid.

Don't waste resources on trying to "fix" the GTN when people are just too lazy to sort the GTN lowest to highest.

"Jourrno!!! I play tired!!!" Not the game's problem
"Jourrno!!! I play drunk!" Not the game's problem, but do share.
"Journo!1! I can't read good!" Not the game's problem, but turn it off and read a book.
'Jourrno!!! You must be one of these "scammers!!"' If you say so, I just list what I think its gonna sell at. If you buy when I accidentally added a zero, not my fault.
See the stars, they're shining bright. Everything's alright tonight.

They should just recolor numbers by the price range in current results.
Its not that hard you know...

Or people could take responsibility and pay attention to what they are buying.

It's not that hard you know...

You forgot to mention that in EVE online price comparison is there because of scams. EVE local chats are 99% scams. Most trades there are built around scams. In SWTOR scamming is not allowed BUT on GTN you can ask any price you want. It also often happen other way around . Someone accidentally put default npc price on some items that was intended to sell much higher.

Overall many people have made mistakes buying or selling stuff. Bioware cant help those. Only thing that can be improved is sorting. Each time you start GTN everything has resetted and must filter again the way you want to see prices.

I will say this. Video games have a business side as well as the creative side. This is necessary to function and only time will tell what the future of the game is.

Yeah! Why bother with UI improvements in the game without addons support (one change per 2 years - new buff bars ).

Truncate decimals in unit price column. Problem solved. It's such a simple solution that Bioware won't do it because they don't do simple. Hard to add bugs with simple solutions.

I'm gonna jump in here with a somewhat related question. Basically, people are argueing whether it's scamming or not. For a couple of weeks I am watching certain GTN offers on The Progenitor. In my opinion what this guy does is definitely a scam. But it appears that most people here disagree.

If you are on The Progenitor, search on the GTN for "Vanadium Flux". In case he has his offers up, you will immediately see what I mean. There are not many offers and you will notice several offers for

10 x Vanadium Flux with a price per item of

1.999,90

In between his various 10 x offers, he has the following offers though:

1 x Vanadium Flux with a price per item of

199.990

To me, it is obvious that this guy does this on purpose. Same item. Same seller. Very subtle (but huge) differences in the amounts. On the bright side, that guy must be really bad at scamming, because who would buy a Vanadium Flux for 1.999,90 credits if you can get it for 800 credits from the vendor? That would lead to the stupidity-question then...

My question is nonetheless: Is this practice a scam or not?
