Leave it to MMO players to view a gain in a negative light.

The damage dealt being reduced woks out to about generating 83% more threat than DPS characters instead of about 91%. A loss, but not a massive one, especially considering damage numbers are being tweaked all across the board. The Sundering Strike thing is a net loss (and makes me wonder if it will still be called Sundering), but it has nothing to do with Soresu Form.

Out of curiosity, do those numbers account for the ~11% increase I'm damage a buff from 90 to 100% accuracy gains the tank?

No, and probably a number of other factors I am forgetting because I can't check the actual numbers right now. That was a very quick and dirty calculation, intended to give a rough idea of how the threat loss from reduced damage isn't nearly as massive as it might appear.

I think that that alone makes up the difference. 10% reduction in damage, but with +10% accuracy means that, all else being equal (and they haven't changed the threat-to-damage ration for tanks, AFAIK), means that tanks will be doing 99-100% of the damage/threat they were before depending on the order these things are applied. This is a negligible net change, and if for some odd reason that 1% tips the scale of threat vs the DPS (which I highly, highly doubt), I'm sure the devs will patch it.

If the mara changes weren't already underwhelming, they certainly are now.

Also, my Mercenary hurts just reading this.

Blind Barriers, Overload root, and slows can all be countered by Endure alone, that is how powerful it is. Same against Mercs, one Endure can counter all of the kitting abilities, except stun and mez. But then they can easily catch up after stun and mez comes off.

I am sure, you made a misprint, and wanted to write "Right now it sounds like crap for (Immortal) PvE". Am I right?
Vigilance is now superb and unstoppable.

Im bothered by the change to Riposte, considering the very meaning of Riposte is: a quick return thrust following a parry. Soresu, Shien, and Djem So Forms were all about parrying attacks and making counterstrikes so I don't see why Riposte should be on the GCD when it wouldn't be a "quick return thrust", it would simply be just another attack that is used under certain conditions similar to High Impact Bolt.

I assume it was changed to be off GCD so that if people started stacking a ton of alacrity, it wouldn't deal outrageous burst damage, but I feel like it being off GCD really makes the Defense Tree feel smooth and fluid.

Nonetheless, we will see how it plays out live if they don't decide to change it beforehand.
