I for one would like to see more personal opinions on what would motivate someone to gather all of the datacrons.

So far it seems, for those that have responded with anything other than the legacy unlock argument or snark it is increasing the stats granted. I think that is most likely the best motivator if this was an issue.

I personally feel, however, this is not likely an issue. It is more likely this is something that most folks ignore, and I also feel it is likely that Bioware has no intention of changing it any time soon.

I did it for the thrill. I got to explore entire planets, see the sights, and collect its treasures. I have 69/69 Republic side, including the Fleet Datacron.

I consider it a challenge before the whole human race. And I never lose.

They should buff the matrix cubes for lvl 60 and make them best in slot until the hardmode operation relic drops.

It's absolutely retarded that the 158-162 PvP relics are the best you can get until the 180's.

Completely agree.

Give people a better reason to hunt them down. Or just introduce new level sixty Matrix Cubes. It's nearly frivolous at this point.

If I were to change the system as it is now, I would change the matrix shards to represent alignment free relics that could be used through the entire leveling process, and boost the stats granted by DCs on higher level planets.

I would also add more that would add from 5 to 50 presence, one on each planet.

That says it all for me too. Legacy is the way to go. I have 10 toons in all only a couple have over 5 or 6 datacrons, the rest, not so much, perhaps one or three. I am not going thru all that crap on all 10 toons.

Would be nice if we could unlock legacy wide, but even then I still think I wouldn't bother with most of them.

If I had to make a choice, I would choose boosting the higher planet level datacrons over legacy unlocks. However, best case scenario IMO would be to have both.

Expand matrix shards into a wide variety of types instead of just the four colors, and rework the entire system so that every datacron grants a matrix shard of some type. Change the process for assembling matrix cubes so that it can come up with predictable results based on which shards you use.
