Not preorder until the last day for the rewards (november?) No need to rush it.
Case in point about the rhetoric and lack of understanding (and rude desire to just call someone 'wrong' for no reason whatsoever).
While I am not asking others to be forced to alter their gameplay... I am being asked (demanded, frankly) to alter mine.
'u' is not a word.

You think that Bioware gave out this bonus with the thought that people would actually play the game? How mind-blowing.

The only thing that's odd here is that you want to play the game without playing the game, and expected the people who made the game were giving you a method to get all the content they made without actually playing the game. It's utterly normal that Bioware would expect you to actually play their game. It's abnormal for you to think that you wouldn't need to.

The 12X buff is there so that you have all the experience you need to level a character through the game without having to complete (or likely: repeat) the planet or side missions. Nothing was said about the 12X giving you great gear at every step. They never said that the 12X buff would make the class quests easier. They never said that you'd be able to play without any thought on gear or tactics.

You still have to play the game. I don't know any sane reading of the pre-order bonus that doesn't imply that. You should have assumed that you'd still need gear, and that you'd still need to learn how to play your class. If you played up to Quesh and didn't consider either of those, then the fault lies with your comprehension, not Bioware's messaging.

Have to agree with this... "I don't actually -want- to play the game, but I want to see it." Youtube is your best option...

Kinda like the kids who go through school slacking all the way, then whine when they don't get 4.0 average and full scholarships handed to them.... "But I showed up, award me for participating!1!1!1!1!"

This is the precise text of Bioware’s messaging:

“With this fast pass to Level 55, advance 12x faster as you immerse yourself exclusively in class story missions.”

My comprehension of that is based on plain English. I don't think assuming that people need to bring a greater depth of perception to it is a fair representation of truth in advertising.

Also: I get the sense that what you guys actually don't like is somebody getting something that you had to grind hundreds of hours for. I respect that, but my interest here is solely in the quid pro quo.

The content is several years old at this point, and Bioware is basically claiming to hold a fire sale of it while also hoping to bring attention to the expansion. My problem is that they're not actually doing that, and I think it's dishonest of them to claim that they are.

The righteousness (or lack thereof) of having to actually play the game is not the issue here for me, nor would it be for the people I'm trying to warn off.

I am leveling completely through class story without assistance from my alts. No grinding, no doing heroics, no doing flashpoints. The money I get from questing is plenty to keep me geared to complete the content.
I have opinions and stuff

Anyone familiar with the game enough to realize what 12x xp on class missions actually means should have been aware that gear would become an issue. This really didn't need spelling out.

For many of us, it is not only possible, but , frankly, easy to level to 55 while only playing the class story missions.

Same. And even with buying Green gear off the GTN, I'm making money.

The only planets that are challenging for mobs are section x and makeb. If you're having a hard time, group up or strategize better.
Peace is a lie... and so is your Order.
