You don’t start out the game knowing that the Beast of Whatever in Athiss needs to be taken by the tank to a little room behind him to eliminate the pushback off the platform (first time we wiped 4 times right there and my husband refused to ever run a FP ever again
This has been removed. You can no longer move the Beast to a room behind the platform nor can you move him down to the river. If you try to do that now it resets.

So you mean level 55 tactical versions, like maybe the equivalent of the HMs but with kolto stations?

I hope it is just on HM, because I think I did it only last week, and that was Okay (the room, not the river). Full pushback off the balcony with the galloping 5x mobs will be pretty much it for a L20 something'ish group.

Patch Notes:

The Beast of Vodal Kresh encounter in Athiss now resets if the boss is moved too far off of its platform. 2.8.2 Patch Not
es.

Since it does not say hard mode I would figure both story mode and hard mode but the best way to handle this beast is have the tank turn him in the opposite direction where you are facing walls and the possiblity of being thrown off the pillar would not happen.

Did not read the whole thread, but on the topic of challenging FPs...Go back to a time when ANY FP in question was level and gear appropriate, when you did not know the mechanics backwards and forwards and upside down (and when you did not view a guide to get a step up to those mechanics...

THAT is when FPs are challenging.

But when you over level and over gear them and when you know the mechanics backwards and forwards and upside down (because you have done them a hundred times, every FP becomes trivial.

My guess is that when 3.0 hits all the current tacticals will have HM versions. And with that in mind, I offer a challenge to any and every "hardcore" player that wants a challenge:

run those FPs at the appropriate level
run those FPs in gear that barely meets the requirements
DO NOT go to the PTS and run them a dozen times over
DO NOT read any strat guides
DO NOT view any Vids

And then come back to this thread and report on how challenging the content is.

Car'beerd (Guardian) Dalkery (Scoundrel) Blairnah (Sage) Daellia (Merc) and 11 other characters

If that's what it takes to make a HM challenging, something's wrong. Also, challenge accepted.

Last time I thought that was when Lost Island was first released. That Flashpoint was difficult for the average player upon release. And what happened? Nerfbat. People complained that it was too hard and it got watered down.

Personally, I have a love-hate relationship with Tacticals. I don't like how brain dead stupid they are, but I like the idea of emphasis on story. However, in my opinion, there isn't enough story to justify the simplicity of the content. I think Esseles/Black Talon has more story content, which I think is unbalanced. Tacticals should have more conversation and more pre-mission and post-mission content. I think these last two Tacticals did a good job of the before and after stuff, but the during was pretty weak.

Hmm, I turned it and stood in the little alcove right behind it (as instructed by one nice player on my 2nd run through it), and it worked.Let's hope it stays this way. Anything else would be cruel and unusual. Because the first time we tried it with my husband, we got the full blast and never been able to go past it.

If it is a story, it should be a story. It should not require you to pug and have a conversational wrestle for content with other people.

To tide you over until new hardmodes and ops come out in 3.0, go 4-man existing ops. I believe that is a popular pastime for people who want some challenging small group content, kind of like soloers work on hardmode flashpoints for challenge.
My name is Milind. I checked it again and can confirm you there is no bug with any companion in the game.
