Epic Match 39 - 39 Timeout

So tonight participated in one of the best / toughest matches I have played in a long time, a real nail biter that ended literally at the last 3 seconds with a kill. Kudos to all involved this was a very fun match, I sincerely hope to see more like this.

Lately been a lot of close wargames, and some stomps from the pubs in the mornings, swinging back to imp later in the day. But this one was very evenly matched.

Frackin GSF when it works it works even if it is a diamond in the rough.

Solo queue from this week, I actually came as backup early in the game when we were about 120:250 down and with one satellite compared to their two.

"Duo queue" with Firedemon, TDM on my Rycer. This one is a bit older (about a month or so).

Was trying to get the daily in before starting the guild raid, and only had time for 1 match. I can't tell you how mad I was with the careless self destruct midway through...

Was neck and neck the entire time, and they pulled just ahead of us when I was waiting to spawn after I got a little too aggressive and they managed to bag me. My spawn happened just as the time ran out. Was very sad to miss out on that daily. And a little mad at the wasted performance.

Still, was a righteous match.

Seriously: There is this fella who keeps calling me a cheater for a few weeks now. 2 days ago I finally saw his name on the opposing team and I knew...there is a god!

This match 1000-999 was great fun; it was back and forth the entire match.

Yesterday on TEH we had an epic match which we were losing over 900 to 500's we came all the way back to win. No screenshot from that match.

This was a great match. Prior to the match, someone on our team said "good luck" in chat. Yuuko-san responded "what does luck have to do with it?" Wow, did he ever back up his words. There were not a lot of easy kills on your side.

This is one with the same score as the OP. This was a while back, I do not play enough anymore to be able to carry.

Was just in a reasonably epic TDM. Lost by 1 kill. Tooth and nail battle all the way. A chap called Scrab got I think 21 kills on the enemy team, against at least decent players on ours. He got 3 deaths (2 of which were me, I think I might be in trouble when I re-q XD).

Anyway, a lot of fun.

Oh man, I remember that match. It was so close I was sweating bullets the entire time. And it felt like yuuko was everywhere too, had to duck and dive and dodge all over the place to try and just stay alive and not attract his attention

Can't say when this match was but this was one hell of a fight. I remember just boosting between A and B and killing to bring us back from behind and eventually winning . It started with us down 250 to 400 and ended as you see in the screen shot. Definitely an epic match!

The chat reminds me that it was on the JC and the Imps were getting their butts handed to them pretty regularly.

Had to have been a while ago. The only name I recognize there is Infernal, and I haven't seen him flying for months. And it's definitely been a while since things were that lopsided on JC.

At this point, a lot of it seems to hinge on which faction is fielding more known names, especially involving aces. Getting pitted against an Imp group like Keenz, Jaheesh, Eichman, and Ko'rvith in an 8v8 is generally a slaughter, but start getting Hebel, Battledress, I'sys, and Tobiasfunke on pub side, and things reverse. Occasionally, you get matches of relatively even power, like where those two groups (or similar groups) are in the same game against each other... And those are almost always great fun. It's just rare.

That's the one part of GSF that makes me sad. Trying to find an even match is just so hard sometimes. But it does make them that much more precious and memorable.

And I just want to explain that my one death was ramming my spearpoint into a wall, a trick I've found turns it into a Rampart Mark IV!

Domination timeout - only one I've seen so far.

Domination win against superior team (in terms of equipment i.e. number of ships to chose from). Also this was on a new character and I only had stock ships.

I have been in a couple of TDM matches that ended tied, in one of them it was 44-44, Fangora on the enemy side had 22 kills, if I remember right, so he saved his side almost single handed.

I was in a TDM match that we won 50-49, at 48-49 I got kill, then a teammate got a kill a second later to pull it out.

I was on the losing side of a domination match 999-1000. Heavy fighting at all 3 nodes, with nodes changing sides several times, the closest, hardest fought domination match I have ever been in.

I will have to remember to get a screen shot if I am ever in a really close match again.

Tonight, Lauri and I had an epic match against each other on Begeren. It was close the whole match and the lead changed back and forth toward the end. I was surprised to find out that I did not have the most kills or the most damage.

TDM mesas
