Don't get me wrong, the whole getting ported to fleet, previous location still occurs at DK / Coruscant. I just know that the FP thing isn't a guaranteed way to get it to occur there. And as I noted previously, I don't use NS / Tat enough to confirm whether the FP thing is a guarantee there. I haven't found any discernible pattern to it myself.

The only thing I can come up with is if it remembered the instance of the planet you were associated with and that instance was either removed or set to "depopulating" and that triggers the go back to previous location thing.

Here's how your bad communication went down:

You post you experienced an alleged bug. I have never experienced said bug. Most of the time "bugs" are in fact user error. Perhaps it bruises your delicate ego to be lumped in with the unwashed masses, but that's the way it goes. I figured you 1) went to your stronghold from the area just outside the newbie elevator; 2) returned there from your stronghold (and forgot you did so); then 3) logged back in certain you had logged out in your stronghold.

Then, when someone else said "Hey, what gives?" you, not being able to conceive that someone could misunderstand what you meant by "newbie landing area" (because, hey, no one could possibly misunderstand what you meant), rather than taking to time to explain what you meant, chose to reply with a dismissive hand wave.

I can tell you think you are frightfully intelligent, and perhaps you are. But you are making the mistake many people like you make. You assume you actually are as smart as you think you are. Which just ain't the case.

The definition of trolling is not "caught DarthTHC communicating poorly." But if it makes you feel better to think so, I am sure you will do so.

And on topic, if there is a bug which causes characters logged out in a stronghold to log back in in the newbie shuttle bay, then yeah, that seems like something they should fix.

Except, in this case, it's not. Others experience it too. It's probably happening after a specific pattern of behavior, which others have suggested and have contributed to trying to figure out, but it's not user error.

I have no ego. I relish being proved wrong, as I said before, because that's how I learn. I would love for someone to come to this thread and say, "You idiot, don't do this and you'll never have that problem!"

Do you learn?

That's an awful lot of assumptions. Stunning psychic ability you have there. Do you accurately predict lottery numbers, too? How much have you won?

Well to be honest your tone did play into my response. Deservedly so, I might add.

And, of course, you foolishly made an assumption instead of wisely asking a clarifying question, so there's that, too.

As stated before, since people keep saying "Iol no, its not a bug its user error!" of 15 characters, only one does this. She is one of my crafters that I leave parked in front of my mailbox and legacy storage. I don't do dailies or flashpoints or anything else with her, she crafts and hangs out in the stronghold, but 9 times out of ten, I log her in and she's back on the fleet in the hangar... where I didn't leave her because I'm lazy and have -no- reason to take her anywhere else because, again, she's just crafts...

The other 14 characters log in where I leave them but it seems the game thinks she sleep flies back to the fleet when I log out...

It seems to place you back at the space port of your previous location BEFORE you've travelled to your stronghold and then queued for a FP or OP (or even joined one). So if you were on fleet, you end up in the starter hanger, CZ-198 on the shuttle ramp or various planets in the space port before you shuttle down.

It's pretty damn annoying as some of the areas you end up in (such as on fleet) you can't simply QT / Fleet Pass / or SH jump. You have to go to the elevator.

It does need fixing, as does the inability to simply use some form of fast travel in those specific areas on fleet.

Amazingly enough, when I first saw this thread, you were the only one to say he had this problem. Now we see others saying they also have the problem. So now I am willing to believe it is an actual bug and not just user error. I still have not experienced it, though.

To assume most computer bugs are in fact user error is hardly unusual, since most "bugs" are user error. To recognize a run of the mill "I am so wicked smaht" internet denizen don't take no PhD, neither.

Your first reply in this thread had nothing to do with me. It was to JattaGin, "Ah, the joys of forumers who know not of what they speak." Why didn't you say, right then, "Dude, I was in the newbie shuttle hangar, You can't QT/etc. from shuttle hangars or similar 'fleet like' places?" Was it because JattaGin was a smart a** to you so you wanted to be a smart a** back?

Confirmed with FP on Rep side.
Most of the times (maybe every) when traveling to flashpoint from stronghold, finishing it and hitting 'previous location' my character lands in hangar bay to Tython/Ord Mantell. I'm not sure if it's caused also by the fact, that original location, before stronghold, was fleet. I mean, it was not logged in on stronghold but somewhere on fleet and travel to sh from there.
Confirmed logging out/in on Imp side.
Yesterday logged into character on the Impside (in stronghold), traveled to fleet for some craft reseting, traveled to stronghold. Gave craft orders, logged out. Later, logged in on this character and appeared on hangar bay to Korriban/Hutta.
