The negative impact would be the hurt feelings from all those who think this game is "work" or those who feel like you need to "earn" it. People who take the game far too seriously.

Since you're still squirming I'll answer that one and ask a follow-up. "Conquests" is a broad term that includes:

Running dailies
Running flashpoints
Running operations
Running warzones
Running GSF missions
Crafting
Killing specific NPC's

Which of those things cannot be done in the absence of a guild flagship? Did I miss any?

You mentioned rewards... rewards are not content. But in this case, rewards are points and if you meet your personal point goal (obtainable without a flagship), you get a bit of stuff, too. What rewards do you think are not available in the absence of a guild flagship?

TUX, I have to be with DarthTHC on this one. You completely ignore that you CAN do conquest and get rewards even without guild ship. It is called personal conquest, and they have the 35k goal.
The guild ship only provides means to place on leaderboards (if you have lot of people or grind like crazy), and makes it easier to reach the 35k goal. But it is NOT required to have a ship to get the points.

I'm guildmaster of a small, semi-active, casual guild. I know we don't have a chance at top 10 most of the time. I just want to be able to choose a multiplier category for my and my guildies' personal conquests. I don't expect to be given equal footing with the big guilds who put in the 50m, just some way to experience the content properly. I'd support the free ship/cheaper ship that would allow planetary bonuses but not leaderboard conquests, and give us a shared space to decorate.

That's fine. Maybe you guys are right, those who don't have one are just lazy and entitled players who probably suck anyway.

I mean, my experience with the ship is obviously unique and uncommon...I love that Conquests has encouraged so much participation in everything from PvP and GSF to Heroics and Ops...but there's no reason to wish for that to expand, right? You guys would prefer to keep things as they are, if someone misses out, it's their own fault right? If they don't know what they're missing, **** em! Right? More happy and engaged players would probably suck...I mean, it's just a matter of time before they all quit...right?

So yeah, you guys are probably right...maybe it is better to prevent some worthless non-committed casual from experiencing Conquests as a guild because they don't game serious enough to have earned it.

It's easy to not want anything to change and believe it's perfect as it is.

I don't know why everyone is trying to be a drill sergeant and impose on people the ability to be super leet. Worry about those in your circle. Stop worrying about everyone else. I see no issue for a smaller guild ship. Hell I support multiple types of guild ships just for variety sake. Conquest should be accessible to all in everyway. Large guilds will win because they are large. Not because they have a ship alone. Giving smaller guilds smaller ships gives them a funner progression to follow while enabling them to participate in conquest fully and still earn the unique honor of losing to larger guilds either way lol.

Start with a basic guild ship then have a next level guild ship then the big guild ship we have now. This makes it feel like progression and will only add to the value of the game. I feel that is the main thing lacking with conquest now. A feeling of reasonable progression for the participants.

I don't understand what you are asking for. If you can't place top 10, as you say, what do you think you're getting with the guild ship... except for being able to say you have, and hang out on, a guild ship? Just the bonuses to some of the conquest activity point rewards so you can hit your personal goal quicker / more easily?
