Agreed!!!

There is absolutely no reason not to open this up for more players to enjoy - big guild or small, casual or hardcore...it can appeal to them all!

Sure they could. Single players could get on the leader-boards. And how do you know what a taste of this might do to a guild? I've had people in my guild sub just for this, return to the game just for this, buy a crap ton of cartel packs for decorations for the ship, buy hypercrates....now imagine if those players didn't have a ship/guild to fight for...they'd have done NONE of those things.

Any single player who can get on the leader board and stay there for the whole event can get 50 mil.

I think you just made my point. Having a ship to earn creates a rallying point for players and guilds. Having a Top 10 finish to earn further rallies them. For the guilds that are capable of taking a planet, being able to earn that victory even further rallies them.

The effort, working together as a group to achieve an objective, is good for players, good for guilds, and good for the game. Having any of it handed to them is... less good at best.

And you completely missed mine...it only works for those who have a ship now, not those who don't.

I want everyone to have a ship because that would be good for the game. See, I care more about this game and its ability to attract and retain players than I do some exclusive ship. I'm 100% about increasing the games appeal...you're not.

So they should get the ship. Nothing is stopping them... besides them.

It's very appealing to have a challenge in the game. A goal. Something to strive for.

If the game handed us stuff for pushing buttons, then we're nothing more than the mouse in the cage pushing the blue button because it gives us food and avoiding the red button because it gives us an electric shock.

This is no different than any other team sport. You want to play, pay the league fee (get the guild ship). You want to win, get into the league (get the guild ship) and learn to play well. There's no crying in baseball.

That and 50 million that they would rather spend on anything else. So remove the entry fee. Give the ship away for FREE!

Conquests provide that goal and challenge, I want more players to experience it without having to invest 50 million and the time it took to grind that out.

If they would rather spend 50 mil on something else, they are actively deciding that whatever that something else is, is more important to them, more compelling to them, than participating in conquest. If that's the case, then they're getting exactly what they want from the game.

Conquests provide a goal and a challenge... that guilds that can't be bothered to acquire 50 mil will never place in, let alone win. The 50 mil is the entry fee for a reason. If you can't meet the entry criteria, you will not enjoy yourself in the competition.

How do you know they wouldn't enjoy the competition?
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

He doesn't, he just enjoys the arguing and I've been foolish enough to feed him thinking he might have changed.

The assumption, is that those incapable of getting 50 mil as a guild, will be incapable of making the top 10. Then, when they don't make top 10 they will take to the forums saying that the system is weighted away from their type of guild; be it content type or size.

Unfortunately, existing forum posts tend to support this theory, as guilds who already *have* spent the 50 million are making those claims.

I like anything that builds on the guildship after its purchase (see my fleet command module idea), but I do think that access to the personal rewards caters to the casual and the guild that doesn't care and the guild rewards provides an entry point that requires more than casual effort and far more than casual effort to place top 10.
