Accuses people of being ignorant morons in the second sentence.

Good job!

At first I read "morsels and manners" and went what? Before my brain's auto correction kicked in.

You mean the already existing report system?

Where did they go? The original trilogy didn't have many mushrooms in it - in fact, I'd say SWTOR has significantly more mushrooms. And manners? Han Solo and Leia Organa were pretty *********** rude to each other, if you haven't noticed. As were all the ewoks and Storm Toopers, not to mention the Emperor.

The "morals" aspect of either trilogy is fairly loose as well, I'd say. Yes, it's a fight against a large controlling force who murdered a few billion people, but it's a very basic approach to morals that I, would say, doesn't teach children really anything meaningful. It's a good basis for parents to work with - though you should be teaching your kids the difference between right and wrong before they're ten - but the almost generic "large group of people with all the power and uniforms are bad, and the rag tag band of weirdos is good" doesn't really say anything.

Also, while arguably it's part of Bioware's job to remove the most vulgar of individuals from the game, just because someone doesn't always say "please" or "thank you" or "do you mind if I swipe this node from under your dead, burnt out husk of a corpse?" doesn't mean that A) Society is crumbling at its very foundations and being taken over by mushrooms or B) Bioware ought to run a finishing school on Nar Shadda.

You don't like the fact someone dropped their p's and q's? Put them on ignore.

Hehehe, yeah, I read it as morsels too.
Didn't know Morels are a sort of mushroom though.

1. Use the ignore function
2. Find a guild with your same values and Stay out of gen chat.
3. Remember everybody doesn't think like you, so don't expect ppl to react in any given situation like YOU would.

And on a personal level....with all due respect...you have to try not to pass on your inner demons to your kids. You said you grew up kinda sheltered. Make an effort to break that cycle with your kids. I guess I was the opposite of you. I grew up in the streets, I ran with a gang, and I did a LOT of stuff I'm not particularly proud of. But I don't hide my past from my kids. I want them to be able to learn from MY mistakes, and make better decisions than I did. Just like I have tried to learn from my parents mistakes and make better decisions.

Mushroom jokes aside:

If you see something that offends you, you have every right to call it out. If someone is rude to you, you can feel free to point out your issues with their behavior. If you are standing on fleet being shocked by people talking about things that offend you: GROW UP.

Seriously, why would you waste your time reading general chat and being horrified by other people having conversations that have nothing to do with you? Get over yourself. If you don't want your children to see that, take them away from it. If you want your children not to be influenced by it, that is YOUR responsibility. YOU explain to them why something is offensive and rude, and YOU teach them not to do it. It is not my job or my duty to police my thoughts for the sake of YOUR children who may or may not be reading it. It is not my fault if anyone else's children see my behavior and imitate it.

I grew up with parents who had no idea what the heck we were doing in the basement with all those books and dice. You know what they did? They walked up and asked me about it. They sat in on a few sessions and laughed hysterically when I rolled a 1 on an important save. It's called 'parenting' and because they did their job, I grew up to be a fairly decent person. But that does not make me fit or responsible for your children, or anyone else's children. It also does not give me the right to judge how other people raise their children. And you don't have that right either, OP.

Bioware removed the join date for exactly the reason MuffinCake above posted.

So that if you joined after the 1st of Januray, 2010, you could still be taken seriously as a poster and player.
