Horrid FPS

I came here from an MMO called Aion. My rig ran that game no problem on full out graphics during mass fortress fights (PvPvE) and Aion graphics would, with all due respect, murder SWTOR graphics. I get here, select a server, and the FPS's suck in the character creation screen! I think 'Oh it'll get better when I log in.' Heck no, it gets even worse and it stays that way until you stumble like a drunkard out into the desert, it's awesome then. I even cranked the graphics up full blast and saw no change in my fps's until I went down into the bug lair.

I was swindled away from an Aion subscription by promises of lightsabers and shocking folks with my hands of awesomeness....BUT NO, I can barely even move, and God forbid something gets after me in a building. I'll tap a turn button gently and end up facing the buggers that I'm running from.

I have the same problem I can play but it gets rediculas some times I got a x64 bit process dual core one thing I notice is it only uses 33% of my processor and I actually tryed to change that via the task manager and it denied me straight off saying access denied on windows 7. I can play just about every other game fine with any problem but for some reason this time this game must be ran on all the lowest seting and all I can think its the game engine being the bulky WOW I could run on max and it had raids 10 times larger then this game and thats with shadows on. Now when I enter a cave it goes to hell out side in the open area it runs ok I had to turn off shadows to be able to enter caves I also lowered grass and tress but considering this game should run fine. It kinda reminds me of the SWG game engine that was horribal and bloated. when riding a speeder to another place the game would be nice like in WoW but its lags outs while driving across the areas and these are some small maps so I don't understand it.

Why is their two starwars.exe files one loads at 850,000k the 2nd loads up to 200,000k this would be like playing two games I suggest getting this patched soon before your game starts bleeding accost the board I have to wonder if the game is only using on side of my processor if anyone knows a work around so I can turn the priority up on it please let me know. Please get some work done to this game engine it runs like a 4 cylinder off steam.

For me it is

Fleet: What is that? Can't get off Hutta because of my 5FPS
Buildings: 5FPS
War Zones: Did I mention I was on Hutta at 5FPS?

lol, some of you have it better than me. I WISH I could run at 10-15 FPS consistently inc ombat out of combat standing still etc.

Just trying to make you feel a little better at my own expense

I wish Bio would quit focusing their attention on lowering queue times and make this issue their #1 priority. Who cares about queue times if you can't even play the game fluidly once you're in.

Not to burst your bubble, but I literally laughed when I saw this. This has been posted hundreds of times in each FPS thread. Thank you though for trying to help out the community.

BUMP TO THE $*(($*$* TOP. THIS (*#*# BETTER GET FIXED. A $60 game that isn't resell-able is garbage and I'll demand a refund.

I recently did something that seems to have fixed the problem for me.

Go into your preferences and turn shadow quality to "OFF"...not "LOW". Turn them completely off.

This fixed my FPS problems.

Hopefully they'll do something to fix it, though. Playing without shadows is funky.
