Horrid FPS

I'm running SWTOR on an Alienware M11x R1. It's an Intel C2D @ 1.3 ghz with 4gb ram and an Nvidia GT335. It's no where near the specs some of these rigs I've seen posted in this thread and yet I seem to get very similar framerates. With All settings on High, with bloom and shadows off I'm seeing about 30-40 fps in open areas. Sometimes I see as high as 60. In hub areas its like 15-25 and in warzones 8-15. It's pretty playable (except maybe in pvp) and that's all I really expected but if my little "netbook" can run it at these framerates all these monster gaming rigs should be chewing this game up and they aren't. Something needs fixing...

I have been having trouble with unplayable frame rates(10-20fps) on warzones and imperial fleet, seems to be ok everywhere else(40+). I have tried everything to increase performance and nothing seems to work, the PC is new so there are no problems with viruses or registry.
I have

CPU:Core i3 2100 3.1 ghz
GPU:Radeon HD 6670 DDR3 1 gb
8 GB RAM

But the werid thing is while playing on my brothers PC, it ran almost with the same frame rates and even better at times. And his is much older

CPU: 2.0 ghz
GPU: Geforce 240 gt 500 mb
2 GB RAM

What is up with that

I have the same issues, and I am not overheating. I think this is another issue that is client side and not user side

And I have a similar issue - a cycle between 30/40 FPS to about 1 or 2 FPS every few minutes. I've tried new drivers, Game Booster, lowest settings, highest settings, the "high to low settings" trick. And it'll happen whether I just started my computer and start playing or I've been playing all day.

But that cycle between normal FPS to unplayable FPS keeps happening to me too, every few minutes. So I don't think it's our similar cards dying.
Well, glad to know there is someone with a similar setup out there, though yours should be a tad better than mine.

My GPU Temp is running hot. I don't know what's considered the "ideal" temp for one while playing. I used to play Vanguard: SoH and it would really tax my machine and card, moreso than this game is currently (and the temp of the card would be hot enough to warm your hand while typing on the keyboard ... laptop ... it doesn't get that hot with this game). I never did look at the temp while playing that game though, as I said, not too computer savvy. Just learned how to do that stuff today :P Right now, it runs at about an even 102.0 Degrees Celsius. Cools down rather quickly when I exit the game to about 89 Degrees. It stays around 70-72 Degrees when I'm just surfin the net ... haven't looked at it after leaving it idling for a while.

If I am overheating, what can be done to fix that? I mean that makes sense to me. Card overheats, slows itself down and the result is poor performance until it cools and starts back up again. Is there a way to fix overheating?

Q6600 @ 3GHz
4gig ddr2 ram
gtx 560 ti
win7 64bit

admittedly, not the best specs, but out in the open with no signs of combat, i can reach 100 fps and if i start running it shoots between 20 and 90, so i checked my GPU usage and its only at a maximum of 20% (other games manage to get over 90% usage).

i havent played pvp yet, i assume ill receive a massive decrease in performance, but at the moment my problem is stability.
