If u put your guard on a healer and say to yourself well my job is done then it`s a good thing you haven`t tried it again(play some regs and start guard switching), you were gimping ur team anybody that knows what his doing from the enemy team will spot ur weakness immediatly and just chain CC ur guarded healer and nuke a DPS who now has no support from neither the healer which is CCed nor the tank which is "but I did my job". Ppl need to understand the regs is where you learn ur class as losing in regs=/=losing ranked, where people freak out over rating.

It`s your money-but if I have spent as much time killing Jedi instead of your own kind...you might be winning this war

Players who have a desire to learn and ask questions before/after the match will not be chewed out by any non-troll playing ranked in my experience. I've had many people who straight up blew on my team but after the match they whispered me pretty good questions so at least they were trying. Several of them are now on my friends list.

It's the (usually dps) players that don't say anything in team chat, go completely against the agreed upon/ simple game plan, do 12k damage, and then proceed to ***** at the team for sucking that I let loose on. Those people will be annihilated whenever I play them next and I'll do my best to make them wonder why they still subscribe to this game.

News flash, halve the player base dont want to play these class types. Especially the casual crowd.

Until you see the reign of rockstar tank healer combos, this game will always have no one queing for ranked.

Not because they are scared of getting beat, or because they dont have the gear. Its because no one wants to play a game where you spend 3 to 4 minutes repeating the same rotations over and over again, against a guy whose health seems never ending.
If very few people ever play tanks or healers, then only tanks or healers wouldn't get Ranked pops. The Ranked queue definately matches by role (a tank will not be put on a team unless there's another tank to go on the other team, same with healers).

Seriously, queue up for solo ranked as a tank, watch how fast all your DPS friends get pops, while you sit in queue for an hour waiting for someone else to queue as a tank. What makes it worse was that they made it so you can't queue for regulars and ranked at the same time, meaning if I want to do anything besides sitting on the fleet and chatting while crafting, I'd leave the ranked queue after so long because of sheer boredom.

And I can also touch on the fact that, without a healer, a tank feels next to useless. All you are is basically another hp bar to burn through. Well it's not quite that bad, but it comes pretty close.

Planet of the Apes might fit, but it was 3 stacks without stasis able to generate stacks for most of ranked 8v8 (perhaps it was all of R8v8 can't remember when exactly it was changed), and before that it was 4 stacks with stasis able to generate stacks. Maybe it was 5 in alpha or beta?

People should definitely try not to be jerks about it, but they did teach you something you didn't know. Why would you not take this new information and try again? Quitting ranked altogether because someone was mean is, well, silly. Why limit your access to the game because of a couple random people?

Did you at least go back to unranked and put this information to use instead?

This highlights a more pressing issue.

People may jump into ranked without knowing their role/class well enough. A Tank's role is pure utility in PvP, damage sponge, guard swap, and seperation/disruption. Normally you'll learn to guard swap in warzones very fast because there are 8 people and you have to constantly swap guard.

So, while he shouldn't be completely flamed for it, there is an expectation when you enter a ranked match that you've done your homework already. It is very unfortunate to just give up, though, because people are just as vicious in regular matches as in ranked matches. No avoiding those kinds of people, just rolling with the punches.

I think if we all just help each-other out instead of calling everyone you beat a ******* the community will be a far better place... but I think I expect too much. Just tell people what they did wrong without discouraging them from playing this game. The population is low enough and EAware does a fine enough job turning people away. We don't need to help the unsub numbers.
