That's like saying you're not taking your car with a busted alternator to a mechanic because of people that run to have their diagnostics made every time they feel the engine purred a bit strangely.

Are there hypochondriacs that go to the doctor too much/call CS for trivia? Sure. But you know you've got a clear case for CS here. If you mope around the forums instead of sorting it out with CS don't moan you got charged in the end lol.

Shame on those that criticized this person for placing a post. All you ended up doing is demonstrating a lack of self respect. Kudos to those that gave him the advice he needed.

The OP has a problem and can't control himself so he comes to the forum crying murder. In his words "THIS IS CRIMINAL!". It's a complete exaggeration and a lack of self control and all he had to do was use half a brain cell to realise he should contact support.

Obviously not. But there is no excuse for the diatribe that was slung in his direction. Also, you might dial down the drama a bit....I mean, you say "crying murder" and then in the next sentence indicate he had a lack of self control.

Hyperbole in my opinion.

The correct response IMO would have been....

Dial down the drama. If you contact Customer Support they can help you. Some people have reported this problem in the past, but after a bit of time the problem seemed to work it's way out...this is also not the forum for this problem. This should be in the technical support forum.

That is a response that both demonstrates self respect and admonishes the OP for being a bit over dramatic about it.

Crying murder is a general expression, nothing more. THIS IS CRIMINAL! is not the same. Using caps generally is a lack of self control.

You will never be able to police the forum as it is. You may feel that people shouldn't be direct when someone post something like this but that also is just your opinion. You may accuse others of being harsh or using hyperbole but how is that worse than your obvious patronising or condescending tone?

So really, your reply should've been different by your own standards. I never claimed to have the higher ground here so I don't feel the need to comply with your "standards". You did claim such a higher ground however....so my advice to you: if you wanna claim a certain level of standards, apply them yourself first. Condescension and patronisation are poor methods for convincing someone of a higher standard.

In the end, even though I disagree with your views, you are just a poor advocate for your own standards.
