I use my fleet pass to travel to the bank from the pvp area lol! I love the zero cooldown.

Good read OP. I've been thinking about trying out WoW again as the latest expansion sounds interesting. I think I would run into a lot of the problems you have.

I feel like I gave wow a try again a few months( started playing my old night elf unholy death knight) and their was a few things in the way, 1 the poor character models which I understand are getting am update, 2 all the reading I had to do for quests, 3 the fact that leveling up you often have a rainbow of colors/styles of armor on you toon looking like some sort of fashion disaster.

The thing I really liked about adaptive armor sets in swtor is that I can go from lvl 1-55 with the same set( like starting a lvl 1 jedi knight with the valiant armor/tython force master light saber).

Out of all the years I've played WoW, I never read the quest. Quick looked for what I had to do to complete it.

I went back to WoW for all of 15mins after ESO failed launch. I lasted 15mins before I came back SWTOR. Those 15mins I was swapping characters.

The problem with threads like this is the same problem SWTOR threads have on the WoW forums.

All MMO players who want to play an MMO regardless of its lore are playing whatever current MMO they are playing because they find it more fun than the other ones.

So everyone on these forums is going to call WoW terrible and they hate it...at the same time everyone on the WoW forums is going to say SWTOR is terrible and they hate it.

It is so very rare that you find people who can actually look at the merits of both games and judge them on that alone.

Is wow terrible? No, it is a fantastic game with some fantastic systems.
Is SWTOR terrible? No, for the same reasons as above.

As someone who has an active sub to both games and plays both games regularly (I still raid 3 nights a week in WoW as well as raiding in SWTOR) I will touch on some of the OP's thoughts:

1) Dead servers - It is true that WoW has some dead servers. Especially realms that have not been "merged" yet can seem extremely dead (and by all rights are extremely dead) - at the same time though there are so many more servers with so many more people on them. My main realm at this time is Whisperwind and is like the 30th most populated server in WoW. There are far and above more people on Whisperwind than I have ever seen on POT5. It isn't even close. POT5 Peaks at about 200ish people a night on Fleet - Stormwind alone has more people than that on Whisperwind and remember Whisperwind is not even very high on populated servers.

Illidan Horde frequently runs over 5000 (very conservative) people a night on Horde alone (While we don't know actual figures on locked stats the best estimates put it between 7-10k people). So to actually say that WoW is a "ghost town" over SWTOR is somewhat laughable - perhaps on 100th most populated server it is a ghost town compared a SWTOR server, but remember SWTOR has what? 8 servers? WoW has over 200 still (Though they are starting to merge them, but they are not removing server names).

The rest of your points are pretty much opinion and while I agree with a lot of them, please remember that not everyone will (except on customization, pretty much everyone could agree SWTOR has more customization options than WoW lol).

Good post, but people need to understand taht there are 2 sides to every story and while WoW may not be the OP's favorite game, it is for alot of people and WoW is in no way a bad or not fun game.

Damn dude, that's a lot of transfers.
Hehe, you're one of those people that makes Blizzard rich simply by having a character transfer system in place. (I've met a few others back during my WoW days, who would server hop monthly for one reason or another.)
Thanks for showing us you listen to our feedback, Bioware!

From Trevalon ' Illidan Horde frequently runs over 5000 (very conservative) people a night on Horde alone (While we don't know actual figures on locked stats the best estimates put it between 7-10k people). '

Since when ? I just did a realm census which counts every player online at the time, and no I don't do it at 2 am, I do the realm count at prime time, no wow server holds 10,000 players. 3500 - 4000 before the server is completely locked, that I counted when Mop was released, now its about 1500 players on reset day Tuesday.

Some dead servers ? Try 90% of them, because you obviously haven't done a census on what they call medium population. Sargeras listed as high population had 1200 or so alliance online at primetime, there were 17 horde. And to hide their dwindling numbers they cross realm Illidan with 26 servers, I counted at the starting zones, that was my main server. You would be a used car salesman's dream customer if you truly believe the fallacy you just rambled on about. And this is recent, I left Wow 2 days ago after slogging 3 characters to 90, the other 10 85's will stay as they are, you couldn't pay me to do those 5 levels one more time.

I think wow is good but there are some areas where it is showing its age. It also feels more like a grind fest to me like trying to get mounts from a dungeon boss who has less than a 1% drop rate.

Blizz say @@#$%% ^&*(%$ I ain't no pet. No Blizz Not the Italian salute Anyhow I just tried the 7 day trial and wasn't wowed by it. I was a big fan of WC1 and WC 2. It just didn't do anything for me. People like it. They have a lot of customers so they are doing something right.

This sounds very similar to what I did, I went back to wow a few months back and was bored almost as soon as I logged in. Spent 10 min fishing and logged back out, and have not looked back, I will be sticking with SWTOR. WOW just does not have anything to offer me anymore, not going to bash the game it just does not have anything for me. I missed the voice overs and my companions.
