I honestly don't remember it.

Not saying it didn't happen but I believe they never actually specified if most of the CM revenue came from Subscribers, Preferred or F2P.

Regardless, as I said earlier, the mind kinda boggles at the thought of people spending all their dough on the Cartel Market, while firmly believing the game itself is not worth a subscription.

Yeah. Ever play a Nexon freebie? I tried one for a bit. It was a piece of crap and so were most of the players. It was amazing though to see how much stuff people bought, much of which had expiration timers on it. Pay for a gun that you only get for a few days for example.

Whether it's sensible for game companies or not, it's still dismaying from my player perspective to see anything that even slightly resembles creep towards F2P games like that one.

I believe they did at a cantina tour. I was looking for a link, but I don't know what to search for.
Found it (link):

Contrary to popular belief, F2Pers are NOT the ones buying the most stuff from the CM. It was never clarified whether this means the bulk of purchases is strictly coming from subs or from a combination of subs and preferred status players. (Though this does beg the question of whether F2P is even beneficial if its still subs and sub CM purchases supporting the game.) They are tentatively (TENTATIVELY!) considering removing the limit on the amount of WZ's a F2Per can play in a given week, BUT only if they determine a way in which it doesn't negatively affect subs.

Yeah Aika Online was like that all the gear for players have time limits (30 days) the Pran items were yearly but it was all pretty pricey as well. Their CS was all P2W items and people spent a **** LOAD of cash for them.

What a great idea for a game model. Wish I'd have thought of it. That said I hope the games I like would sink nobly beneath the waves before even considering doing anything like that.

Don't get me wrong the game itself was good but I just couldn't stand the P2W atmosphere it had.

Bioware has done an amazing job of avoiding P2W imo...an easy pitfall for any MMO to fall into.

Cartel Market is akin to P2W, RP-wise... Or so I heard from a superior and clearly enlightened individual.
