Seems like a fair trade off.
Hey, I'm all for that. Seriously, sounds like a great idea to me.

Because they would not retain players...or more accurately, a game that had only end game content would appeal to a small fraction of the potential game playing community I would expect.

...as would an instant level token. I would expect that most casuals would not use one. I would also expect that most casuals would not care if one existed. This would mostly interest hardcore players that have little interest in leveling and more interest in end game activities.

Therefore, no....I do not think this would effect the majority playerbase in any meaningful way, positive or negative. However, a small group of players would likely be very upset over this...and an even smaller group very happy.

For me, I don't care either way.

For those advocating a "skip to 55" mechanism, tell me, what have YOUR experiences in GF Ops been like?

None. I wouldn't call myself an advocate though...more a person that doesn't care either way.

LoL @ group finder operations. That is kinda like comedic relief, with a little bit of talent scouting mixed in. Also I have found that really no one is using the ops group finder the way it is intended, they just form a premade, or this new thing where i guess they form a 16 man and split at the end but one group gets screwed cause they lose the tanks or heals or both. So people that wanted to gf into ops just sit in Q now and get nada. At least that's what I hear.

Now I am not an advocate of this even though I started the thread, I just wanted a good topic that I thought people would have many differing opinions about and boy was I correct. I also realize that folks don't read every post in a thread, but a few pages back, after the initial input and argument I asked if we could change the topic a little. Still an auto level up but with these rules attached: For this level up you would already have to have a level 55 of the said class or a 55 of the mirror class, i.e. a level 55 scoundrel can roll a level 55 imp op, sorc rolls a 55 sage etc..
And that it wouldn't be beholden to your legacy but your account so you could roll your toon on a different server and still be able to get this perk. It also would not include the class buff, or the companions, you would have to go back and get them the normal way.

Now, with these rules in play, do we still think it would hugely increase the level of bads in your, lol, group finder ops? Your hmfps? Endgame pvp? If so, why? If you still think it isn't a good idea, why? Please try to use different argument then "Leveling is what everyone has to do, if you don't wanna do things the way I think you should do them then go play another game!" Someone or maybe even someones made post like this, so lets use our brains yes? If you like this idea the way I re formed it, why do you think it would benefit us. Again, remember, we're just chatting here folks, and this isn't a petition, this isn't something that is coming. It's just people's opinions.

I've done 2 GF Ops - both were enjoyable. I was one of the better geared players, but it went remarkably smoothly.

And lets think about this...your argument seems to be that the player won't know anything about their class at 55...right?

So your assumption seems to be that someone entirely new to this game will drop an extra $XX to boost a toon to 55 so they can run Ops that they've never run before...right?

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? The players looking for insta 55 are either going to be PvPers or heavy Ops players who want the extra character because of the lockouts or returning players who want to do things with their guild/friends (who would presumably hep the new player in Ops).

Now, while I would love an instant level jump token to 55, just think about it. It woulden't last long, every1 woulg be using it, and there would be more 55's then any lvl bellow that lvl. Still, I would want one to start over on a new server with a 55

Its pay to win, no thanks.
Unsubscribed due to no new Operations.
I am happy that there will be a renewed focus on story, I love story, its why I picked this MMO. But I picked an MMO, not an episodic single player RPG that I have to pay a subscription to receive the episodes.

Now I am of the mind that you should play however you see fit, but I saw an add for a thing in WoW that is a $60 one time thing you buy and boom your that games max level (95 i think?) I thought it would be interesting to ask the community and see what you guys think about something like that for this game. Now before I am flamed to death, here is my opinion on the matter, to start things off...

FOR MYSELF: I am an endgame player, I have played through class missions and planetary quests since I joined during update 1.2, and I am kinda tired of that whole scene. I have a family, kids, work, and almost no time to play except in the evenings from about 8-11 or 12. I have one 55 toon that I use for my progression team and many alts that I just don't have the time to work on, with my runner up scoundrel almost 55 as of this week. I know that a thing like this would up the % of window lickers and bads even worse then kdy has done, but I still wouldn't mind having a super awesome red button to press that makes me 55 so I can just take my toons to raid with, and fk all to the whole leveling biz. Now I say again that this is just my opinion and am not advocating for something like this in game, just thought to have maybe an interesting conversation. What do you guys think?
Well, I think it's a horrible idea. You shouldn't be able to skip the entire game and flood endgame content with completely ungeared, unskilled players. *twilight zone music* Imagine if you will...Ops filled with players in green gear and asking what their ability tree is. The horror..... If people who can gear their characters and know how to play can jump, so can completely new players and that wouldn't go well.

Besides, they'd obviously charge for that , making the game pay to win.

Yet this is exactly what happens with players buying accounts with at least one ready 55.

Even entire guilds that jump between games - most of them level together, but there are some that will just buy a bunch of accounts. I've seen online marketplaces, seen deals being negotiated. B-game accounts are very cheap compared to WoW, SWTOR and EVE ones.
