Hey all--

Now, I noticed that right next to each other, there is a thread about 'please let us skip the missions' and one about how you shouldn't skip anything at all. Now I am of the mind that you should play however you see fit, but I saw an add for a thing in WoW that is a $60 one time thing you buy and boom your that games max level (95 i think?) I thought it would be interesting to ask the community and see what you guys think about something like that for this game. Now before I am flamed to death, here is my opinion on the matter, to start things off...

FOR MYSELF: I am an endgame player, I have played through class missions and planetary quests since I joined during update 1.2, and I am kinda tired of that whole scene. I have a family, kids, work, and almost no time to play except in the evenings from about 8-11 or 12. I have one 55 toon that I use for my progression team and many alts that I just don't have the time to work on, with my runner up scoundrel almost 55 as of this week. I know that a thing like this would up the % of window lickers and bads even worse then kdy has done, but I still wouldn't mind having a super awesome red button to press that makes me 55 so I can just take my toons to raid with, and fk all to the whole leveling biz. Now I say again that this is just my opinion and am not advocating for something like this in game, just thought to have maybe an interesting conversation. What do you guys think?

I could go on a long rant of what I think of it, but I'll keep it short. My opinion is: no. We do not need an automatic "token" that gets you to 55.

With all the Legacy XP perks, XP boosts, rested XP, guild XP bonus, and Double XP weekends, it is extremely easy to level up to 55. In fact, if you do it right, you can reach 55 in under 24 hours (a day) during a 2XP weekend (some proof). That is crazy fast.

Well, I'm sure someone is going to bring up the whole "WoW has it!" argument. So here's my counter: as a F2P player in WoW you can't go past level 20.

I could totally go for something that allows you to just do class stories and then Makeb to get from 1-55. Class stories are fun, but the world arcs get worn out.

Perhaps as a Legacy Level 50 perk. Folks with a Legacy Level of 50 have certainly done their share of the questing lol.

Sounds like a good idea. I would settle for it.

On one hand, at this point, I wouldn't have an issue with it. I wouldn't use it but again, wouldn't have any issue with it whatsoever.

On the other hand, I can imagine plenty of those using it complaining that this game doesn't have enough content or that Bioware is not capable of dishing out enough NEW content in a timely fashion...

While ignoring the fact they willingly CHOSE to ignore EVERYTHING preceding the Elder Game experience.

Either one.

But... leveling is the best part of the game.

Tho I admit that it would be cool to have a way to only play 'story mode' without having to do sidequests for the umpteenth time. Hell, I would pay for a 'reset quest flags' option to relive my agent's story and the companion combos again, or having some kind of 'theater mode'.
It's not about the difficulty, it's about compelling gameplay!

This idea reminds of Dragon Nest's jump festa event. Similar to the jump token, this jump festa event allowed any new or old player to have access to a capped character with some slightly above average gear equipped. It appeared like a good idea but then, the problems began and it would be noted as centerpoint for bringing an already beligerent community into a poisonous toxic one.

First, there was an inane amount of players who had no clue how to play their character. Because of this, raid failures intensified, which then in turn angered people even further. On the forums, we even had this thing for awhile were people would start calling others "newgen". All of this poisonous atmosphere stemming from a seemingly innocent event.

Now does this mean the idea is bad? No, it just needs work. I myself suggested a "story mode" with some restrictions some time ago and it was met well. Resetting the class-quest would be awesome!

Well, too bad.
But you must know that working a character from 55 to 55+geared+skilled takes a lot more than from 1 to 55. If you don't have the time to level, a mostly painless experience, will you have it to do progression on two characters?

Not selling instant 55s is one of the things this game does right.
People buying characters where it's possible end up in a large proportion of top level players completely lacking any understanding of their class.
