This... It might as well not even be the same game, it has nothing to do with the rest of the game, it is so completely separated that even the existing space missions share nothing with it, not equipment, not achievements, not even XP boosts.

It feels more like you're launching a separate game with GSF.

If you have to ask that, then you haven't looked into it much.

The 162 PvP relics are some of the best in the game. You also can covert WZ comms to planet comms, I do this all the time to gear companions and alts.

You stated that GSF had only one game mode. Which is wrong. I pointed it out. For some, team deathmatch is a fun alternative to the domination maps but obviously GSF in general could do with having a broarder appeal.
No, those are just one mode, flying around and blowing up other fighters.

Another mode would be defending and taking out the capital ships, which is so obvious I'm shocked it isn't in there.

Another mode would be "kessel run", a goal to get X number of ships escorted from one side of the map to the other with the other team trying to take them out.

What we have is just team deathmatch, with and without control points, it is stupid and simple and boring.

The bottom line is, GSF isn't what the players asked for. Players wanted free roam 3D space, not space on rails. GSF is simply a different type of PvP mini-game in a different arena setting. It didn't satisfy the PvPers, it didn't satisfy the PvEers...it's nothing more than another tiny niche of content that doesn't appeal to the masses.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

In fairness, I don't think the devs had the budget to do free roam space. JTL was well along in development at SWG launch, so it benefited from the initial development and launch budget. We are several years into SWTOR and those budgets are gone, so GSF had to be developed on the cheap.

Frankly, it feels like an outside team did GSF, it doesn't match the style and flavor of the rest of the game in many ways. I so badly wanted it to be worth playing, I played TIE Fighter for years, best space combat game ever in my book.

GSF is just a bad space arcade shootem up with no objectives other than blowup enemy fighters.

Have to agree. Will continue to enjoy playing it but it isn't close to what I wanted.

I base that on some clues given in public statements, I made a list of those statements in the past, I will try and find them again.
I think you're right that it surprised them, but in all honesty, it really shouldn't have, because I personally don't do GSF, but even I remember a lot of these same issues being brought up before it was even released, and nothing was changed. It's not ALWAYS a good idea to change things based on the reaction from your playerbase, but it seems to me that in this case, the feedback you guys gave them was completely on target.

even on the lowest pop server( pot5 ), I am able to play GSF all day long. matches pop every 5 min or so during peak playing hours. so its rather funny how the same people are constantly saying, "no one plays it".
can't wait for this game to come out!

This sums it up.

So GSF will be left to die along with the pve space game. Though it maybe unfair to pick on GSF as being left to die the entire game seems to be very much in that vain. The last update brought click boxes as the only new content. And then some changes to group finder, though even without the option to pick what GF op you do I can't see how a PUG experience in ops is likely to be anything but frustrating. All you need is a couple of people who don't know what they are doing and you will never make it through before people start dropping out to look for a more experience group.

I played GSF a fair bit at start but the problem is that in the beginning we only had 2 maps of basically cap and hold missions. The new death match maps came too late and teams are easily imbalanced. I didn't see many close games in those as it was.

This may sounds strange but I also feel there's too much open space to fly through, but really some of those longe range shooters really have too much of an advantage because of it. I am also not convinced adding bombers to the game. I dunno it just seems imbalanced in so many ways. The steep learning curve etc have to do with that as well. It's just not something that you easily get into. I would've been happier with much simpler controls and more action.

I spend too much time just flying back into the battle or flying circles around a cap point. I did it again today just to have a look but it didn't inspire me to try again. It ended up being 8 vs 8 and their team pretty much all had 5 fighters and on our side most of us had one. As a sub I have 3 but these teams were so uneven it wasn't even worth the time we spent in it. So I didn't even q for a second battle.
