Why would you expect otherwise ?

You pay for everything.... Inventory slots, cargo bay holds, etc....

You seem to have missed the "from a crafter" part.

Craft it, have a guildie/friend craft one for you, have a stranger craft one and sell it to you, or buy one off the Cartel Market. So many options, nothing to complain about.
