my norm after many burnouts is that I do 5 boxes dont get what I want, I sell the rest. I have been a gambling addict and I know the consequences.

Not buying packs again, ever, though. Not after reading these stories about buying four or five or more hypercrates and not getting a walker. If it were me, I'd use that "faint" emote and keep lying on the floor by the cargo hold. Oh, actually, I wouldn't, because I wouldn't get the emote.

Hey, if you just want to make cash from them, there's almost no better way to do it. They sell on average for 250 to 300k a piece. Just don't pull an "Elfa" and open them.
I'd like to sit down with the guy responsible for having Busta Rhymes fight Michael Myers in HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION. Then, before he could speak, I would slap him so hard his face would explode and his dog would die." - Jim Law

Well to quote Christian Bale, "Oh, Good for you!"

I find it amusing that people think they improve their chances of getting something special by buying more packs. You have the same odds every time. And those odds are slim. Let some other sucker find it and then you buy it off the GTN.

Your overall chance increase with the amount of packs you have. It's the same odds every time you are opening a cartel pack, but you are giving yourself an overall greater chance at what you want by opening multiple packs.

I am not defending the packs, however, as it's still ridiculously low odds. I would think they would get their RNG methods out of their heads. Since WHEN have they been a good idea? Was RNG an awesome idea for Battlemaster gear, Bioware?

I disagree - and you contradict yourself. First you say the odds are the same everytime you open a pack, but then say your odds increase with multiple packs. The odds aren't cumulative. If there's a 1% chance to win a rare item from a pack, it doesn't matter if you open 1 or 1,000 packs there's still a 1% chance.

You may be thinking of a lottery ticket scenario where you can pick different numbers on each ticket. Under those circumstances your odds to win will increase. In this case, the odds are ALWAYS the same, it doesn' t matter how many you open.
