If you want to continue being a casual scrub who plays a single player MMO, go ahead, just don't go putting stupid ideas of hate into dev's minds. I want arenas, and so do other people.
I think you are into MOBA games instead of MMO, but you don't seem to realize it yet.
Try bloodline champions, LOL, dota2 or warhammer wrath of heroes. I'm quite sure you'd have a blast there. Especially bloodline champions and WoH I recommend that two for arena and teamplay aspects.

A MMO is suppose to be a social experience first and foremost. Guild mates, friends, rivalries with opposing guilds. That is what made World of Warcraft so great in the early days and that is what I hope Swtor will hold on to.

But if everything you do is done on a massive scale to help lazy people get into their dungeon at 04.00 without having to talk to a single human being then there won't be a community. Its just a sea of random names that you never see again.
I don't want to talk to the community outside of a group of friends and I could care less. Arena is the most fun pvp I've experienced because I'm actually good and cross server dungeons with dungeon finder is way more efficient than spamming general chat which in no way would build community in the first place. All the whiners talking about no arenas are just awful at pvp without a doubt.

Umm, just look at this or any other threads, look what "arena supporters" have to say, look how they say it. Its trash players no one wants around with few polite exceptions. Usually the higher he was in (be ready for shocker) IRREVELANT AND MEANINGLESS HERE ARENA RATING the biggest jerk he is.

Have you played warhammer online? PvP community there, at least on my server grew to the point, where when two people were dueling, randoms often didn't interrupted and often victor from opposing faction could duel another one or leave peacefully. Best PvPers were renowned in opposing faction not because of their number in some ladder but from skills from fighting them on scenarios and open world skirmishes. Now Thats what I call community.

Now compare that to self righteous, self entitled for everything, endlesly e-peen stroking and insulting left and right wow arena goombases. Its better for all of us if they go back after free month where they came from to train their pokemons as panda monks.
The point of an MMO is to make money first above anything BW and EA are not a not for profit organization they are not a charity.

Do you see how you are communicating with the OP someone you don't like? Do you understand that right now it is your choice to communicate with them because you are not forced to do anything with them in game? By limiting choices you are putting these people into the same warfronts you play in. By limiting choices you are putting them into the same open world pvp you're in. The OP is here playing your game right now with no arena in it for him to go play in.

Warhammer lost thousands of subs the first few months and took one of the hardest dives of any MMO. I subbed that game on and off for a month or two at a time to see if anything would change. The population shrunk so much and mythic did nothing to fix the problems that game had. People were forced to be nice to each other during duels because there was nothing else there. If someone started acting like an idiot people would leave the area.

You should go out in game find people you enjoy playing with and build your own community of friends because with successful MMO's comes choice and freedom.

A simple death-match style 2v2, 3v3 arena warzone would really be beneficial towards this game. Bioware already addressed PvP balancing issues with expertise and the PvP zone buffs such as reduced healing, etc. Please Bioware! Give us competitive PvPers arena!
Small scale PvP requires more focus and attention. Skill-wise it has a much higher cap. Not only do I enjoy this but I'm tired of skilless bg heroes. It doesn't have to be EXACTLY like WoW. My god... I don't want it to tbh, but please, let us see some form of arena combat.
2v2
3v3
4v4
5v5.

This just in: People in a massively multiplayer game want small scale PVP.

It's Christmas day and already my irony meter has broken. I'm sending Santa a hate-tell.

Well seeing as its a sharded online game where the main selling point is single played story there isn't exactly much there to begin with.

Swtor is far from a proper MMO. I mean I've had fun so far and I'm sure I'll have fun for another month or two, but there is nothing massive about this game.

Having some form of competitive small scale pvp would at least give the game some longevity in pvp.

As far as massive pvp is concern ala world pvp the best we can hope for is that you will get valor and commendations for individual kills and that once more people are max level they will flock to the same zone which would hopefully provide organic world pvp.

Mine was a tongue-in-cheek comment. But, I agree with you.

I just find it humorous how, here it is on Christmas day and people are foaming at the mouth and punching their keyboards at the whole arena vs. non-arena debate.

Are people really that angry or did they just not like what they found in their stocking?
