so what if world pvp dies, u dont get any thing from world pvp. As of this moment there is no point in killing another player in the open world. Dont get me wrong I do enjoy killing ppl/getting killed in an open world, but there is no point in doing so. You dont earn any rewards for doing it. When blizz and Bioware says there is no interest in arenas they are talking about it from an E-sport perspective. There where much more hype around Vurtne and his kind back in the day, then any of the top rated arena players have now. cuse watching an arena tournament is boring as ****, it all comes down to the healers mana pool/regen.

A MMO is suppose to be a social experience first and foremost. Guild mates, friends, rivalries with opposing guilds. That is what made World of Warcraft so great in the early days and that is what I hope Swtor will hold on to.

But if everything you do is done on a massive scale to help lazy people get into their dungeon at 04.00 without having to talk to a single human being then there won't be a community. Its just a sea of random names that you never see again.

I keep seeing the word community thrown around, but I don't think people remember what these communities were like. People were FORCED to group and they were FORCED to be nice to each other because there was almost nothing you could do on your own. I for one don't want to go back to having to be friends with a bunch socially awkward raid and guild leaders to get anything productive done. I have friends in my real life I don't need to pretend to be friends with people that I don't like. Now I'm not saying I don't make friends and that I'm not a nice person but I enjoy todays MMO's where I have more freedom to choose the people I enjoy playing with rather than having to be stuck playing with people I don't like just to be productive. If you find you're not making friends and you're not interacting with people "the community" it's you buddy.

Limiting what a player can do so that there is a forced community is not what people want. Giving more pvp options doesn't destroy the "community".

Wrong,wrong,wrong.....vurtne never had as many views as neilyo for example....and neilyo till does it and it was always just ARENA(after his 2nd movie)

AND world pvp never ever generated money through boosts or sponsors like arenas do....so...ye,wrong

When vurtne was around youtube and internet was not as open and widespread as it is now. Vurtne's **** is still being watched. And have you ever seen the final in wow's arena tournament? Its *********** ****. Its all about the healers mana pool and regen, as I said before. you will never see the same quality and skill in arena as you did with some of the good old world pvp players.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is the point of MMO games. Don't like that? Play skyrim or something*cough*wow*cough*.

Umm, just look at this or any other threads, look what "arena supporters" have to say, look how they say it. Its trash players no one wants around with few polite exceptions. Usually the higher he was in (be ready for shocker) IRREVELANT AND MEANINGLESS HERE ARENA RATING the biggest jerk he is.

Have you played warhammer online? PvP community there, at least on my server grew to the point, where when two people were dueling, randoms often didn't interrupted and often victor from opposing faction could duel another one or leave peacefully. Best PvPers were renowned in opposing faction not because of their number in some ladder but from skills from fighting them on scenarios and open world skirmishes. Now Thats what I call community.

Now compare that to self righteous, self entitled for everything, endlesly e-peen stroking and insulting left and right wow arena goombases. Its better for all of us if they go back after free month where they came from to train their pokemons as panda monks.

Whoa, whoa. How could you not want arenas? The best part of multiplayer games are the competitive ranked aspect. Why wouldn't you want to climb the ladder and be at the top? Why wouldn't you want your game to be a popular e-sport? This is ridiculous. Arenas are such a great idea and promote your game. If you want to continue being a casual scrub who plays a single player MMO, go ahead, just don't go putting stupid ideas of hate into dev's minds. I want arenas, and so do other people.
