I have to be honest about this event

This slot machine thing doesn't even deserve the label of event. It's standing in one place and clicking something for hours on end (or minutes in my case). I'm trying to imagine the conversation that lead up to this...

1st person: "Hey, we need an idea for an event."
2nd person: "I have a great idea, guess what it is."
1st person: "Some kind of mission where you see a small story along the way?"
2nd person: "Nope."
1st person: "Oh, I know, a combat mission where you fight some new enemies."
2nd person: "Nah-uh."
1st person: "Okay, I give up."
2nd person: "We make the player stand still and click the same thing, over and over and over."
1st person: "That's brilliant! What kind of rewards do they get?"
2nd person: "They get the satisfaction of knowing they are participating in an event."
1st person: "This will be the best event ever!"
The sad part is this is that even though players say they want "real" content they are hitting this crackpot event hard and with great relish. Some of my guildies have proudly spent 25+ mil each on gambling. BW does its metrics analysis or does its rigorous scientific polling by asking for a show of hands at cantina events and uses that as justification to crank out more simpleton content.

TLDR, I think this sort of stuff is ok as short term content strategy. But if this is their modus operandi for long term success it doesn't look good.

I had fun, General Chat was a blast, not full of the usual fleet stuff, no WTS, LFG, PST Role link achievement ect ect... 10 instances, when the last time we had 10 instances of anything.

1.7 million spent = 1 rancor, 3 magnus, 57 Gold Certs. Money well spent for me. Have you seen the cc rancor's on the GTN, 1.7m is a bargain in comparison. I spent like 4 million on hotshot packs hoping to get a bantha, and never did would have been cheaper to buy it now, so yeah I spentalot of time clicking and clicking. But it was a nice break from, Cz-198 Daily, Oricron Daily, Section X Daily, Queue PvP, Queue Tactical, Queue FP.... rinse and repeat...

Personally, I don't recall ever having put anyone on any forum on /block or /ignore. I like learning and even idiots sometimes say smart things.
I blocked him on my forum display, because he isn't adding anything of use to this particular discussion, as far as I'm concerned. He came off like he was jerking me along, and trying to get a reaction out of me.

Of course I understand, that if posters go against ToS, then Bioware can effectively remove their right to post for a day or two, or however long a ban is (I've never had one.) I didn't care for how he responded to the other poster, and I didn't care for how he responded to me. I'm too old for BS, tbh. If a person irks me in some way, they get blocked. It's a simple solution and keeps me happy and positive, in a place that so very often...isn't.

Well, so was I, my sub gives me a right to post, but I suppose some people insist on lawyer speak, so yes, the sub gives me the right to post here, on this forum so long as I abide by the rules and Terms of Service.

He might have been partly right, but he was belligerent in how he came across to me, and I didn't feel the need to put up with someone who was openly hostile to me for no reason.

Doesn't mean it is actual work. It means you took time and effort to accomplish something in a video game.

And for some, it can be fun.
It is, by definition, fun, or they would not do it.

Actually, no. Because 5k+ deeps on static dummy usually means ~3k deeps in actual fight.

Clicking slot-machines for hours on end is no fun.
I see their R2 droid and I grab it. No, you can't have it back, silly rabbit!

Because Dulfy says you need to click 1111 times (probably because "chance increases with every click" ) before you can win rancor doesn't mean you have to click 1111 times before you win rancor. I got mine with first 80 Smugglers I bought.

If you go to your fleet up around the lockers or by the hanger doors to your ship u see a hovering round droid, click it, then watch or blow past the stupid vid (like i did) you get a mission to go to Narshada and when u fine the 2 vendors, u get 5 free coins or what ever u like to call them. that's it, that's all.....
Referral link, Use it, don't use it. It's what ever. But if you do, Thank You.

Indeed, it means you may click 2000+ times and win nothing.

You won the rancor fast, good for you. You also did absolutely nothing remarkable to win the rancor fast; you were just lucky.

As someone who is desperately struggling with the KDY Achievement (as I posted in another thread) and hence someone who has terrible luck with RNG (the slots and roughly ~1000 clicks so far confirm that) I can say, for myself, that I utterly hate anything based on RNG (with no alternative).
