Is that the best counter-argument you have ? LOL.
Anyway, Thanks, I appreciate making the list. I do not recall a response of yours that added value to the convo, so I won't be missing anything.
Going Preferred January 31, 2015.

I also believe I was civil about it. Well, I know for some people, the only correctness that matters is political, but I do not know that that is the problem here.

LOL, quite so.

I don't want to go all George Berkeley or anything, but if you don't look at the clock it matters not whether it's right or wrong. Putting that in context, if we don't enjoy a particular contributor's posts, it's not mandatory that we read them.

Just quietly not listening is better.

Have to admit I was not always like this. Nice to think I have acquired a spot of wisdom or two over the years; hopefully I have.

It is simply that I enjoy the forums more because of my ignore list. Probably no one else cares who I have on it anyway, nor should they. If someone does care, they can at least partially figure it out without me saying anything.
Please don't misinterpret my disuse of /ignore lists as an objection to their very existence. I meant to imply only that I don't use it.

That said, I do take umbrage to your classification of the fingers-in-ears while chanting la la la la la dodge as a useless tool. As I've indicated elsewhere, I've raised three daughters and what few brain cells are still synapsing in my gourd owe their very existence to that ploy.

At least the STO events have some variety to them, such as the Risa summer event. Sure, they aren't the most exciting things in the world, and are a grind when you come right down to it, but there is at least a few different things to do. They at least seem like they are trying to make it fun.

This slot machine thing doesn't even deserve the label of event. It's standing in one place and clicking something for hours on end (or minutes in my case). I'm trying to imagine the conversation that lead up to this...

1st person: "Hey, we need an idea for an event."
2nd person: "I have a great idea, guess what it is."
1st person: "Some kind of mission where you see a small story along the way?"
2nd person: "Nope."
1st person: "Oh, I know, a combat mission where you fight some new enemies."
2nd person: "Nah-uh."
1st person: "Okay, I give up."
2nd person: "We make the player stand still and click the same thing, over and over and over."
1st person: "That's brilliant! What kind of rewards do they get?"
2nd person: "They get the satisfaction of knowing they are participating in an event."
1st person: "This will be the best event ever!"
Have you hugged a Wookiee today?

I wasnt interested in the rewards, or not to the point that I wanted to waste time and credits there atleast ( the blaster rifle is pretty cool though) so I had no intentions of participating. Then I discovered that it was possible to trade in cartel market certificates for Kingpin tokens. I interpreted that - in combination with how the new cartel market packs dont have certificates - as an attempt to phase out the certificates. Figured I might aswell spend mine before it's too late so I walzed over there. Should add that a had a big second incentive, everything els on TRE was broken at the time (and still is) so the only thing that worked was the event. Spent a small amount of credits on the cheap tokens so I could get the buff, that's how far i was willing to stretch it. Got the rancor on one of my first kingpin rolls and three of the other speeder shortly after. Also managed to accumulate enough gold certificates for a few items. Left after an hour with no intentions of going back.

Felt like I was extremely lucky but in terms of enjoyment I'd give it a 1/10.

Please forgive me. I defer to your superior practical experience in these matters.

Oh, come on, bud, pretty sure the humor wasn't all that obscure, what with the big toothy green smiley and self-deprecating reference.

I don't understand why there isn't gambling on Nar Shadaa all year long. I sure hope when the 2 month event ends, something for of gambling continues.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))
