Since the "actual" problem is the player base and the unique situations they bring with them it's impossible to fix so the only thing to talk about are "work arounds"

But the workaround would bring some relief to the issue. World peace is a tough enough scenario in real life, let alone a video game. Cross faction/server queues would at least make one large pool to pull from.

This might help the situation for a little bit, but then what? This does nothing at all to solve the reason queue pops are slow.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

The only thing that would fix the problem entirely is removing the chat feature and the kick function. If people could not talk, and not kick, there would be no drama. With that, you add an Ignore Account feature which means you would Never again be queued with someone you disliked, or their alts. Then, if people kept acting like jerks, eventually all the trolls would only have each other to queue with.

How would you call incoming? How would you explain boss mechanics? How would you know who the MT and OT were? Removing the chat feature, in an MMO, is flat out stupid.

Easier thing to do to reduce queue times :-
1. Remove 3 fp loot per week restriction from f2/preferred
2. Remove 5 wz restriction from f2p/preferred
3. As soon as players are level 10 they automatically get these quests : introduction to GF, introduction to WZ and introduction to GSF. they don't need to run around on fleet to get those quests and thus they learn about fp and wz and gsf as soon as they are 10.
4. Removing those restrictions and making those quests automatic will make f2p players aware of what this game have to offer very fast. they will start to queue more for these features instead of just solo quests.
5. More queue pop because more players are on queue. problem solved.

I would add an onscreen clickable (able to be keybound) that had the top 4 most common items like "Pickup Incoming, Tank Swap, Get out of the fire, etc. Or build in something that effectively gives similar warnings, a bit like Deadly Boss Mods did for WoW, but make it a Protocol Droid in the corner of your screen that essentially shouts the warnings and countdowns for you. I am all for better ideas if you have any.

I think rather than lifting the restriction, they need to make subs more appealing. Removing subs and making F2P/Preferred = Subs, is likely not an option they want to entertain at this time.

So your entire idea comes down to eliminating any need to be even slightly social, in an online game?

I do have a better idea.../ignore /report and Bioware can get a little more strict about actually enforcing their own freaking rules and suspend/ban continual offenders.

This we agree on. Make subbing DESIRABLE.
