you know... this really depends on what's your definition of "right". how how are your expectations?

I have a strong feeling that if you are expecting something fully moddable/modular ala SIMs - you might be sadly disappointed. now... I have no idea how extensive housing will be. I just highly doubt that it will be possible to add the sort of extensive customization that would make housing lovers happy. honestly... I'll be happy if there's more than one spot/angle to place a couch.

that is true. my hopes are that we'll be able to at least change the colors of upholstery, and some of the placement of things. just trying not to expect too much and basically going by the sort of personal touches we can put on our outfits. where you can mix and match and you can dye... but only to an extent.

If EA/BW does not provide that capability someone in the company should have hot bantha snot shot up his rear ejection port for missing a huge moneymaking opportunity. Just imagine all the furniture texturizer and wallpaint packs that can be added to the CM, not to mention the specific furniture items and décor.

I don't see how we could possibly have enough information to draw any conclusions about mechanics in Strongholds. At least wait until it comes out to talk about how the sky is falling.

My thoughts? We've had a form of housing since launch. They could have added some customization options to our ships, and been done with it, and spent some of that money on new Ops or FPs. The only thing that even remotely interests me about the housing expansion is Legacy Storage, and they could have added that to the ships and been good.

So, in perspective with the premise of this thread, as far as I'm concerned they did it wrong anyway. If I wanted to play Suzy Homemaker, I'd play the Sims.

that is too much of a level headed assessment for the forums

I think SOME hooks are fine. I would not mind a few hooks for specific items.

However, I think the majority of decorations should be items you can place (drop and manipulate) in the environment, ala SWG.

Player housing with forced placement of items(within reason) is terrible , it effectively makes it an unlock system. Slightly exaggerating but imagine being told how to decorate or set up you're own home.
