I play both male and female characters, but I don't really notice any difference in treatment, probably because I don't act different or seek to be treated differently.

I mainly run a woman character because of there voice actors. I kinda like the female sith warrior voice actor. I really enjoy the trooper, bounty hunter voice actors. But I love the voice actor of the smuggler. In fluffyninjallama's play though, of smuggler I just loved the snide and childish ring to the words. Not saying I'm a creep but I just enjoy the voice acting. Also the male smuggler voice actor is a wonder too. And that is why I enjoy running female characters.

She definitely has a way with words. The delivery on some of her lines vs the male smuggler is just wonderful, like the cheesy "BY THE STARS WE'VE BEEN INVADE" or whatever on Ord Mantell. Cracked me up. I also love her delivery when the female smuggler talks about her favorite word...credits. Great voice acting, that's for sure.

Hey, look, just because you don't know how to maintain your nails doesn't mean it's not possible for the rest of us.

Extrapolate that they probably do it because it succeeds more often than it fails. Remember folks — we're on the Internet™, bastion of anonymity, lack of eye contact, and freedom from consequences.

aka perpetual Friday night campus party

Which actually is the fundamental explanation for most of the weird poodoo described in this thread and the millions of others like it.

detour. on nail maintenance. I've given up on it. I try to keep them reasonably clean, but... there's only so much you can do when you work with your hands and gloves aren't really an option.

it is sadly? the truth.

tried topcoat. it does absolutely nothing. chips off within the first half an hour of me starting to work. /shrug. (and it does take a lot of time, especially if you work with your hands - can't just spend 5 minutes slapping clear polish on. seems like a waste of time for such short term results to me, personally - especially since it increases eventual cleanup, as I now have to deal with residual nail products in addition to regular post work cleanup)

P.S. its not actualy a male thing. its "person of any gender" working with their hands" thing

I have some female characters, who have lore-friendly names, moderately feminine looking gear, and all that.

Not once has anyone I interacted with on these characters used a female or even gender-neutral pronoun towards me, or used "bro" or "man" any less, or in any other ways seemed to assign a higher probability to a female playing the character than when interacting with a male character.

Rule #30: There are no girls on the internet.
What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence of the Sith race and the Sith people, the glory of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the Empire, so that we may fulfill the mission allotted us by the Force itself. Everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility.

I've played a few female toons, purely for sake of a little diversity. I've never really had any problems or special treatment. Once or twice I have been "hit" on and I just let the dude know that i was a guy.
The Mitchell Legacy (too cheap to change it to a more lore based name)

Just once did one of my chars get treated differently because there were two extra polygons on the chest:

On the tatooine ballon with my female vanguard in shiny white armor. The male char was a filthy sith with a dark 4-5 face. Half an hour of flirting, loving and staring from the sith, and I facepalmed and scowled just like my char. Guess we both played our roles, and I found new respect for all the women that stay polite when some wacko tries to hit on them.
