Bad Business Model or Ok?

Still recall all the doom and gloom talk about this MMO dying an ugly death back when it was all P2P with no F2P model. Back then, the big killers on the horizon were GW (2 or 3 - can't recall) and D3.

Yet here I am, resubscribing - but frankly its because my wife and I missed the grouping dynamics of this MMO (as compared to ESO, to which we also subscribe). And I wanted that floating palace home thingy for both of us. May not hold on to our subscriptions to this game for long, but for now we are.

That would be GW 2 as there is no 3 even being publicly talked about yet. And anyone touting D3 as the killer of any MMO was an idiot. Can't compare a non-MMO to an MMO as far as market shares go.

There is a demographic that will always see this game as a failure because (a). it didn't kill WoW or (b). It's not SWG. Never mind that the subscriptions are healthy and there are many, many players who are f2p or preferred. Never mind that the cartel market sales result in many of those paying the equivalent of multiple subscriptions per month. And never mind that they've been rolling out new content consistently.

I'd rather that things not be rushed just to meet an arbitrary deadline of some other game's release. They thought the housing would be better with additional content so that's fine.

And there are so many "We", stop trying to proclaim your "we" is above the rest when its not, when many people are telling you they don't want any part of your 'we'.

If SWG were still worth keeping online, it would still be here. Sad but true. Perhaps TOR's fate will come sooner, who knows, but why try to make others feel badly about what they enjoy?
He certainly speaks for me and the other ~2mil players that unsubscribed and quit. Perhaps you should reread his post and see how and why he speaks for a lot of displeased former AND current TOR customers

I am astonished that you took the time to ask those ~2 million players why they quit...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the math, since the only number I've seen for "confirmed" subs was 1.7 million, and yet, he keeps going on about 2 million leaving. Perhaps it's time for a link to that number, so that I can quit scratching my head about where he's getting it? Maybe he's just rounding up for sensationalism?

I'm guessing he counts the people who bought the game (2+ million sold copies) and then didn't like it enough to actually sub up.

And then he just assumes that since 500k stayed on (was it 350k lowest? doesn't matter) others must have subbed up and then left.

That's the only way he could come up with the number of 2 million.

But then again, I think he is just using hyperbole to get a negative reaction from people.

So if you're one of the people that unsubscribed and quit, why did you come back?

Note: This will end up being a rhetorical question as I expect you to be too chicken to actually answer me.

I did quit. Wildstar is the new messiah of MMOs, successfully surpassing WoW as the mmo titan and crippling ToR even further. Cute personal attack btw.
