I was in a flashpoint as the only Consular, and there was a Willpower implant loot drop. A smuggler and I both Needed on the item, and the smuggler got it. (I had Needed on it because it was better than both implants I was using at the time, so I was pretty annoyed that I didn't get it.) In chat, I asked the smuggler why she Needed on it. She said it was a mis-click and apologized. I said, No problem, just trade it to me. The smuggler said she couldn't because she was F2P.

To avoid this problem, F2P players should only be permitted to Greed on flashpoint loot.

Do F2P have to buy access to FPs and Ops? If so, just tie the ability to trade with other players to the FP/Op authorization. After all, if they bought the authorization, BW made some money off them, even if it was indirectly because the F2P bought the authorization off the GTN with credits.
Going Preferred January 31, 2015.

Everyone starts out as a newbie. If a person thinks there's nothing left to learn, he still is.

Are you also F2P? Pretty sure if a subscriber opens trade, they can still put items in there, you just need to start the trade is all.

I have come across alot of people who will need on everything. There is 2 different guilds on JC that are very well known to bring along people wearing blues and greens in a FP and 16mans just so they can need on items. Its very big practice that has our guild blacklist them.

1 step to do is to explain at the beginning of the FP or OP to see what the loot rules will be. Make sure to ask if anyone is F2P and if they have done these before. Just to clarify the rules. It can also lead to good friendships with people who may be new and need help.

I got blacklisted 2nd day after game started because I was in Black Talon and Needed on an item that was an upgrade but was actually Bounty Hunter Item. I apologized and told them that I looked at the upgrades it gave and never even looked at the item itself. But the guy went off anyway.... and flew into a fit over it. (they were boots) I stopped playing that character and went Republic.....

cannot trade with f2p. its part of the reason subscribers have been calling for at least partial lift of those restrictions. preferred can trade, but f2p cannot, no matter who starts the trade.

I'm not sure that's a good solution, as that means they are pretty much unlikely to get upgrades, and f2p is already held back in many other ways.

IMO better to allow them to trade flashpoint drops that still have timer on it. I know why they don't want trades to be allowed in general - its one of the anti gold seller's measures. but as it stands right now, it penalizes actual players more than it does gold sellers, so lifting restriction on at least flashpoint drops could help.

I see no point staying in this game as F2P for longer than compleating a story is worth,
You eightrer comit yourself to playing, investing your time and emotions in what you do, or dont even weste a time and move to something else.

And yes F2P are mostly bad becouse they are mostly greedy, selfish kids trampling over everyone looking for fast enjoyment. Some eventualy grow up some dont. And yes there are subs like that but I doubt they stay in the game for long time with that attitude.

The worst kinds are anoying kids joining your guild expecting for everyone to give everything for them for free - carry them through HM ops, even as the do nothing and dont know what is intrerupt key. And when they fail at Coruptor Zero with 12 stacks of Concusion Mine they ragequit the guild, ransaking the bank, and complaining that the guild are noobs becouse they couldt get him through OPS. That ofcourse after they extorted everyone to give them free crafts / money / helping them level, and beging to give them all drops "since you have better anyway" - yes I do becouse i worked for it 2 years !

Besides Subscribtion is really cheap - I mean if you want to spend in this game some 10+ hours a week it is. If you cant do that MMOs arent for you.

Simple rule - avoid pugs like fire.

If you still want to do some SnV 16man SM for Coms - dont expect any human behaviour from those monkeys (not to mention - dont expect that anyone will do their job at all). Just go through it need on everything you need and prey for the high score. If you want something done right join the guild - or beter yet - find firends in game !

This is a bad generalization. First off, you might think its cheap, but for someone that may be unemployed or is having to take care of family/kids maybe even a child that is special needs, that money may just not be there. So some people have to take time off subscribing and they still want to play.

Also you forget just how many Soldiers play this game, and not everyone of them can pay supscription fees.. some of them F2P while they are overseas. So dont start thinking that ALL F2P players are somehow greedy little kids.

You sound to have had bad experience with F2P players, I get that... Everyone has had to deal with players that are jerks. But to generalize all of them as greedy kids, what you do is alienate and create a mindset that may cause you to become just a big a problem as those kids that made you mad. You will treat other players baddly all because of their way of paying for the game and not them themselves or their actions. You will end up making what might be good players or fun people ticked off and or disheartned that there is no one to help them and that the only people they meet or rude and dislike them because they are unable to subscribe.

This is an issue I have heard while in the game talking to F2P players as they are in starting worlds. Some great people I have met were upset that they couldnt find any real help and the people they had met had been rude to them just because they were F2P. I have met just as many subscribers who are jerks.. and who do things people blame F2P players for. Dont overgeneralize!
