If you want to delve more into the theory (and reality) behind gold farmers, I highly recommend Cory Doctorow's FTW. It's available for free in e-book format!
I will be happy if EAWare would think of a way to have the whole player base spend their creds in economy. And also monitor large amount of creds transfer through mail and direct trade. If EAWare manages to scare people even in the slightest they will be scared to trade with or receive mail from creds seller. that will effectively kill creds selling.

well what would you suggest? Considering how quickly new accounts can be created and new toons leveled with no investment beyond a few hours a day.

Perhaps ban an entire IP range (even though you can easily randomize and spoof IPs). Perhaps remove the /yell and prevent people from using it (bet that goes over well).

Out ban anyone saying any of the key words used by spammers.

Internet has been trying to get rid of spam since it was first invented (spam not the internet). IF it was easy and didn't impact anything legit they would, but it isn't and it does so they do the best they can. Or people can just mitch and bone about it, and not take more than a second to actually think.

If people are allowed to BS in general chat then creds seller should spam more to completely block off these BS.
I want to know what EAWare is doing to remove these BSer in general chat.
you seem angry...why do you hate free speech so much?

An actual Customer Service Rep from Bioware who would be able to investigate SPAM reports and silence/ban offenders.

Hating that type of chatter has zero to do with "free speech". This is a service I pay for and your freedom of speech doesn't apply here. It's childish, juvenile, emo and unwanted here.

So would you have a full time person on all servers, at all times just to stop a person from spamming for 3 hours?

Why would you need that? A low wage employee could handle reports from every server single handedly. They'd only log on to the server when the reports we file (spam reports) are generated - hell, I bet one dude could do this part time from a smart phone or tablet. He wouldn't even need to log in.

I got no problem with it, to me it's funny to see how riled up people get over inane subjects like religion and politics. Course I spend very little time on fleet so I don't deal with it that much
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

Is this referral mic on? It's free stuff and stuff, in game.

so when a EU server sees a spam message at 3am local time and "flags spam" that person is expected to quickly within minutes remove that person?

The other suggestion is that they allow in game mods to do it, however, that is prone to abuse and difficulty in finding in game players who wont abuse it.

Third suggestion is to use auto filters, which are questionable at best and ineffective at the least.

Tux dude don't lower yourself, you are better than that, I might not always agree with you but feeding the trolls is always a bad idea.

I really don't understand the gold selling argument though? I can get more gold by simply buying dyes or packs with CCs and selling on the GTN? The rate of conversion is way better than what a gold seller offers per dollar.
