So why do you need this new feature if you already stand on fleet to LFG?

If they make it so that only level 50+ can access the channel that would cut down on the gold spam significantly. It would mean that people on low-level alts couldn't see it, so maybe 30+?

The devs said at one of the last guild conferences that they are working on global friends/ignore, so that would be the best fix, allowing a game-wide chat channel to stay relatively free of spam. Of course, if idgits would quit buying the gold and selling gold to the spammers that would fix it even faster.

Because maybe I don't want to? Maybe I want to read or post LFG and LFM from anywhere I happen to be.

I posted a suggestion in the Suggestion Box that BW create Faction-wide LFM/LFG channels that can only be posted to by level 47+ toons or by toons in a Legacy having a level corresponding to a single Level 47+ toon, and that they make repeated posting of non-LFG/LFM messages to that channel a ToS violation punishable by suspension or revocation of the account.

If they can code such channels, I think it would be a nice QoL improvement.
Going Preferred January 31, 2015.

I do, it's called my Moron Filter on almost every character I've made, and it constitutes guild chat, party and ops channels. Everything else is turned off. If you want to know what's going on on Fleet, go to Fleet. Before we get to the "you can just block it", ignore lists are limited, your ability to fly to fleet for free is not.

You know for a social game, you guys try so hard not to socialize.

I'm not going to use GF bc of bolster.

You guys can uncheck the LFG channel off your chat channels.

I don't see a problem here, we need it bc a /cjoin LFG isn't enough. Lots of people don't even know that /cjoin exists.

I appreciate the feed back but some if you guys are redicules.

I socialize just fine, in guild chat. In guild chat, we're not having to filter out who's doing who's mom, or the troll answers to legitimate questions. We don't have to filter out RMT spam either. So they spend all this money on development for a feature that a lot of people are going to turn off? What's the point of spending that money there, then? Wouldn't it be better spent on something else, like new PvP maps, or more PvE maps?

You act as though it would be hard. They already have the infrastructure in place. All player made channels are faction-wide. Are you really going to equate a PVP map or a PVE map to adding a new chat channel?

Lots but not all. It's cute that you think new channel=PvP maps in monetary value. Not everyone PvPs and PvEs, so they should stop deving those too?

That's just it, I have actually designed maps in a similar toolset to what appears to be used here, and no, I don't, and I never said I did. However, this is exactly why I don't want fleet chat funneled into my house. I wouldn't care if it's a couple hundred bucks, that money could be spent better elsewhere.
