Grab your Fatboys, Crotch Rockets, Old Wings, and Trikes

How about a Pazaak Run? akin to a Poker Run....

You have to travel in a group (no more than 4), all must be on speeders, 2-4 places on each planet (resets randomly after someone finds it). Find the location, each group members get a random Pazaak card (Must be on speeders!!!!!) (BoP...so no trading). Turn in Pazaak hands for prizes. After event, cards cen be vendor'd for 1 week, then they're gone so if they do another Pazaak run, you can't horde cards.

Could encourage some random groups (social), let folks do some legacy exploration stuff if they haven't already, and they can enjoy the scenery that the art team put together.

Bioware bought LucasArts, so of course we instantly have to have all of the code from KOTOR available for inclusion into SWTOR. Ignoring the fact that there's no way in SWTOR to be able to manage your personal stash of cards that integrates with the rest of the inventory system.

By the same argument, we should be screaming bloody murder that all we have is this PvP 'Galactic Star Fighter' thing, when Bioware clearly has access to all the code from the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series of space-combat games; they should have released a full space combat storyline progression for both pub and imp characters months ago with all the depth of those games.

Speaking as a computer programmer with more than thirty years of experience, it is not easy to take someone else's code and integrate it into yours, particularly when that code wasn't written with any intention of being adapted into other software.

No, but black jack is an incredibly simple game to develop, small ruleset, limited number of values, it's not difficult. It's given as an assignment in most introductory CS classes it's so simple. Pazaak is a slightly altered blackjack. I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt in that it's hard or difficult to implement. It's simply not important as other updates to the development team. Making silly excuses for them doesn't change anything. The only way they will take the development time to create Pazaak is if players ask for it.

Easy rules does not mean that it is easy to implement. It certainly helps but still you have the problem to integrate the coding for Pazaak into the main game - you cannot compare a stand alone Pazaak game outside SWTOR with adding this feature into the existing coding of SWTOR. This is much more difficult. And for Pazaak they need a new interface and a solution how you can store and select your cards. I do think that this is possible but it takes time and it is not something that is done in a few days.

Currently they are working on the housing system so maybe after that. Perhaps the Casino event is a step in this direction to see how people react. So maybe if people like this event we will see more in the future.

Why people are clamoring for a single player card game is beyond me. Would much rather have a social game.
Dear BW,
Please nerf paper and buff rock. Scissors is fine as is.
Signed, Rock.

Umm Bioware should have the code since they made KOTOR.

The script language used in Baldur's Gate wouldn't work in NWN. Hell, some of the scripts in NWN wouldn't work in NWN2. Some of what worked in NWN2 won't work in the Witcher, which also uses the Aurora Engine. Way back when computers were new, I learned how to program in Basic. Guess what, that language is now useless. Having the code doesn't mean it's compatible with another game, and sometimes, it's going to be easier to start from scratch than to try to adapt it.

I'm afraid logic is wasted on these forums.

Sometimes. But I prefer to fall back to that than to fall back to "nuh uh".
