Legacy storage is just another storage system like inventory, cargo bays, and guild banks, just with its own set of rules around access and storage (e.g who can access, what items can be stored).

Player ships already have access points (clickable objects) to cargo bays and guild banks. Various places all around the game world have access points as well (clickable objects).

It is a stretch to think that legacy storage access could not be available on ships (or Fleet or anywhere storage is available today) or that providing access to legacy storage on ships would be a high risk endeavor likely to break the game.

I don't know if legacy storage will be available on ships, but I have my suspicions it will only be accessible in stongholds.

If that is the case, I believe the reason will be more due to the desire to play up the success of stronghold by showing the participation rates of legacy storage than to any technical limitations.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to legacy storage but ambivalent about strongholds. I am worried that legacy storage will only be accessible from strongholds and thus will require waiting on silly planet loading screens just to be able to deposit or withdraw items (and thus will be another fail in my book).

<sigh> No good deed goes unpunished.

BW should just focus on the people who they can please, and ignore the people who they never will.

As an alternative to Strongholds:

I take it from your comment that you have never worked on complex software written by a team of people you were not a part of and with whom you cannot consult.

I have, BTW.

I am working on my own mmorpg, have been I think it will be a year now, and I will tell everybody that asks or says foolish comments, that NOTHING is "easy" at ALL! It's not just "oh, I'm gonna put this in and poof!" You have to go to the drawing board, see what code it fits in, if there is even compatibility issues, if there are issues with something not being accepted within the program. Sometimes you have to go digging inside your coding because stupid things happen when you least expect them (yes, something as easy as a texture file can cause a big headache) stuff like that. So anybody who thinks "it's easy just do a,b,c with a little bit of d" is fooling themselves. It's a lot harder than most people think.

Housing is basically going to be our ships but on planets. Nothing really new or innovative about them. Plus like Galactic starfighter it's definitely going to be tied to the cash shop to gouge the playerbase.

Actually, if you had read more, it is more tied to in game stuff than the market. Housing is more going to be tied to crafting and crew skills. You will be able to make furniture, etc... for anybody who wants it plus you buy more rooms with credits as well. So don't go saying something before you read more up on it. Thanks!

BioEAware said that they'd take kill traders and win traders seriously for vanilla Ilum world PvP and ranked season 1 respectively. Look how that turned out.

Keep in mind the worlds we're limited to; Capital, Nar Shaddaa and Tatooine. Putting a bunch of 55s on these four worlds isn't going to do much for the "at-level" populations. Nor is it going to provide any increased grouping ability for the 55s.

From an RP perspective, it's just silly. As with "our" ship hangar on the fleet/starports/orbitals, everyone will go to the same door to access their "house".
