You do know that people can role play on non-role play servers right? Just like non-role players can play on role playing servers.

As to the topic...... meh.... it's not like there is not already a billion lines of worthless banter in chat already. In the long list of things to just ignore in chat... this is by no means any sort of major issue IMO.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

I've seen all manner of role playing in MMOs over the years... and yes..... there are people who love to role play things like being a beggar. I saw a few in my WoW years that did some world class performances in this regard and were well known and accepted on the server (a non-RP server btw). There are also people that do it to grief the server. No way to tell which is which usually, so I just ignore them (as in simply do not pay attention to them) if they do not interest me.

I really don't understand the need to complain about this in general forum here. People act like they have no free will over what they do/do-not read in chat channels.

Oh I do not know if he was a RPer, but in an MMO you get the same people as in real life, some people in real life are beggars, that they beg in game is no surprise.

The lesson is if OP doesn't want to play with the "unwashed masses" he should play solo games like solitaire.

Someone in this thread has either the world's best, or the world's worst, sense of self-awareness. I'm not sure which.

The way to see if they are really a kid or a beggar is to ask what they want it for and take them to the GTN and get it for them. If they're a kid, they'll take that too. If they're a beggar, they'll go away.

Yeah, I've reported both of this players' toon names for spam and also for inappropriate behavior. I'm sure they have more toons to beg with as well. Hopefully the team will do something to get rehabilitate this player... or just get rid of it.

What a dumb way to get on a lot of /ignored lists thereby hurting their chances for groups later.

I've had a fair share of players asking for credits, I don't really get irritated by folks asking for something like 5k, still I would never give it to them and say there are plenty of ways to make that sort of money fast. What really got on my nerves however was when I was on the fleet and a guy straight up asked me for 100k! I just couldn't get my head round it, and why his brain had decided to ask me....so I politely stated that the chances of even giving a guild mate that amount of money were slim and placed him on ignore.

I don't like people asking for credits on the fleet. I didn't have a lot of credits on my first character as well and I made do.
If they already have a level 50 character, it's easy to make some money. Some people seem to think they need to have everything on their first character.

Anyway, there was a guy asking for someone to give him a Cavern Varactyl for free over several days.

Try playing ESO. You will change your mind about beggars being worse than farmers.
