your personal need for consistency within FICTION is causing you to have to create drama where none is needed. if you need to dissect and criticize things that ARENT REAL and MADE UP and only exist in YOUR IMAGINATION then i wonder if you need something more important to think about in life. this isn't important; it isnt real.
But that's exactly what your saying, your saying that because its fiction we shouldn't pay it mind. The fact that we enjoy fiction, that we pay money for fiction proves its own importance regardless of its status. Why shouldn't I want fiction to be consistent, why shouldn't I want to enjoy a fictional imaginary product as much as I possibly can? Is that so bad?

Is a consistent, fictional universe that seems real not something inspiring and to be strived for? Is that not why we are all here? Particpating in a product of this vision? What is it about its imaginary status that makes it so unimportant?

And finally: are you not capable of thinking about more than one thing a day? I am.

Right now I'm puzzling over how people can be so bigoted, especially on matters that don't affect or concern them.

*you're

And I'm not saying to not pay it mind, I'm saying that you're paying so much mind to it that it's becoming a burden. Enjoy it for what it is, instead you want to take something that ISNT REAL and start critiquing how consistent it is with other works of FICTION.

Newsflash, none of it is real. if there comes a point where FICTION stops being entertaining to you and you need to turn into a LORE SOLDIER that takes FICTION so seriously then you need to get some perspective.

You mean like how SWTOR can't really affect the movies in any appreciable way so its impact on the SW universe is basically null, whether its canon or not?

Someone getting all ruffled up about how SWTOR is in canon limbo really has too much time on their hands and honestly, its probably not good to be stressed out about it.

Its not in canon limbo. Its NOT canon. Period, End of Story, per Leland Chee and Kathleen Kennedy.

You dont like Cannon.. or care about Cannon.. just go ask a fan of Marvel or DC... and how not having a solid Cannon.. can create Crap...... and tons of crap.... like the alternate universes.... and BS... that comes out.

ummm, technically, isn't everything thats not the movies or the clone wars discredited right now? Even the Bane books are discredited even though Darth Bane appeared in the lost episodes of the Clone Wars!!!

Point is this game was not singled out or given any special discredit or anything, it just got the same blanket decanonization as the rest of the EU

I appreciate continuity as something that enriches my experience of the Star Wars universe, for many reasons which I have already explained, so of course if that something is taken away or undermined, I will be unhappy. Pretty simple.

Will this ruin the experience totally for me? No. It doesn't strip them totally of value, they are still good stories but the fact of the matter is they are not as good as before. Case in point the post-ROTJ are still good stories, but they are not as good as they used to be now that their continuity is being undermined. Is it terrible that I acknowledge this?

No. The only person that needs to get some perspective is you. You need to understand that continuity is important and it does effect the quality of a story, so of course if that is undermined people will and have a right to be upset.

Now if I were using it as a basis for say claiming I'll never read a EU book again or that these stories are totally worthless then you've had a right to tell me to calm down - but I'm not, heck this particular issue doesn't even worry me and I've being trying to explain to the OP and others that the changes being made here really aren't that drastic.

But I really think people need to start understanding that continuity is an integral part of what makes this universe so amazing, and superior to other universes such as Marvel and what not, and that it is therefore to be cherished. It troubles me to see how uncaring people are about achieving what I think, is quite a fantastic achievement.
