Until the tattered mysitcs gear was added, there wasn't anything that looked like battlemaster stalkers/survivor's gear. So, dying it would not make players not recognize it.

Again what difference does it make? You are complaining for absolutely no reason other than you can. What is so wrong about giving people options?

I would disagree that it is pointless, but I agree that removal of gear sets is a silly policy IMO. It does not have the effect I expect they desire, namely increasing the items value. Instead it seems to keep the value constant and simply frustrate the player base.

Maybe there are better words than "pointless" but even so, the OP just assumes that the little people are to be in awe of his accomplishment, as if attaining Valor 60 is supposed to be some milestone or clear evidence that you're amazing at PvP.

Such is hardly the case truth be told.

Again, if people are that interested to see if someone is using the Artifact quality Battlemaster shells, they'll inspect their gear; If not, then I guess it's safe to assume they never really cared to begin with.

I firmly believe that the vast majority fits the latter though.

Hmm... give the OP credit. He sticking with his guns.

The only thing I will add to this thread is the word "entitled". Use it how you will.

Everything else seems to be covered.

I have a set of Battlemaster gear on my Sith Sorcerer that I worked hard to get. It's nice/cool that as a result I stand out and am a little more unique than a number of other players, but at the end of the day I would rather everyone be able get the look they want for their character rather than me being unique. Yeah, I worked hard for it, but I still have that reward and have enjoyed that reward for quite awhile now.

This argument is so moronic to me when you look back at the way the game was at launch. For instance you didn't gain Sprint until level 14. What do I have to show for those first 14 levels taking me longer than it does for players who start out at Level 1 with Sprint now? Nothing. What do I get out of Speeders being easier and cheaper to get now than they were when I first played? Nothing. The list of such things goes on and on. The point being that these changes get/got made for the better and I'm not entitled to anything just because I invested more time at certain point in the game's lifespan.

This is my Sith Sorcerer that I spoke of, and it's the gear set that will be coming to the CM eventually...

...however as someone who has had it forever I would really suggest the change the color of the shoulder pads or the blue neon or remove the neon entirely because both the coloring of the shoulder pads and neon isn't something that changes with dye(s) and almost no color scheme looks good against it.

Also, just FYI my Bounty Hunter and Jedi Knight are rocking the old 1.2 PVP gear...

...but I didn't earn them via PVP, I just bought them off the GTN and neither required any Valor.

Oh and I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to having the orange belts and bracers to complete these sets.

I'm sure some people will say/think that the old gear looks ugly, but so what? You see people running around in what you think is ugly gear all the time on Fleet and wherever else. It's not something that will ever change. There's always going to be (what you think is) ugly gear in the game, but if someone likes/wants it for themselves or their companions I say let them have the opportunity to use it. I might be wrong about this but I don't believe any physical harm will come to you as a result of any of this.

We already know that old PVE/PVP sets are coming back via the CM.

He knows the same way I and others know. We've seen the datamined pictures.

There's all sorts of game files that people can dig through to discover unused or upcoming items. Every update installs a certain degree of content for things that we won't see for another 2 or 3 patches.

Such information isn't deemed to be public by Bioware. They have a time table that they want to release information on to consumers.

Well, it may be entitlement perhaps, but I see no harm in providing a unique look for folks that earn it. A good example is two models of the Rancor. By having the models differ a bit, the former earned mount remains exclusive while the masses get a rancor like they desire.

I think this was the right way to handle this. Just my view.

If I may...

In the case of the Rancor, other than the description and the overall look, there is no way to tell them apart, true.

However, such is not the case with gear, like I mentioned previously already.

If people care enough, they'll inspect your gear; By inspecting your gear, they can verify if you're using Legacy gear, crafted shells or the original Battlemaster ones.

If they don't, well... They don't.

Also, you're assuming that people are actually aware of the difference, color wise, between the Survivor, Force-Mystic and Stalker variants; I've been here since Early Access and I can't tell them apart quite honestly.

If I can't what makes you think that Little Joe, who started playing AFTER these shells were removed, will seeing they didn't have the chance to familiarize with them to begin with?

I think changes wouldn't be bad/pointless, but not to make the old gear more unique but rather to improve the CM versions like what I mentioned with the Sorc Battlemaster set

I never understood why they'd remove the gear when their replacements were always so limited, ie multiple color variations. Why not build out the PVE/PVP gear variety more by keeping existing stuff around and doing less copies with different colors? Or to the same extent lower the level requirements of the old PVP gear over various increments of 5 levels or whatever so that there's a greater variety of gear to obtain throughout the entire leveling process. Basically reward the players who just want to play PVP the sameway you do PVE players who are getting new gear while questing. What I mean by that is when questing you're often times gaining things that allow you to change your look as you level, but with PVP there's such a wide level margin between when you can acquire PVP specific gear sets.
