That must either be a leftover from devs thinking they might want Agents and Smugglers to tank or it's an homage to the * of the Whale gear from WoW.

Add Good Tank & Good Heal Comms.

You get 1 per MVP Vote + 2 for completion. (of random queue with maximum of 2 players (one friend should be good for morale)

You can trade these at 10 Tankcomms or 10 Healcomms => 1 day of Subscription Status.
Hmm, perhaps it would be possible instead to award good dps? Maybe X amount of MVP votes would be able to translate into Commendations that you could use to purchase an item that would move you to the top of the queue with say, a 5-6 hour cooldown only usable when queuing solo? That would be incentive for dps to stop being so derpy I would think. It would also ensure that at some point you get to join a FP that day. Perhaps also make it so that if you queue in a group, you cannot vote for the players you queue with?

I'd be curious to know everyone's thoughts on this.
May the F = ma be with you.

Good DPS already get rewarded by being placed on friends lists of good tanks and healers and maybe even guild invites to guilds full of good tanks and healers with whom they can group.

Well I'd imagine the system would encourage players to learn their class. But alas I may just be an idealist with too much faith in the common player.

For every horror story I've personally experienced with a group finder flashpoint, I've had a dozen that were fine.

And by "fine", I mean either the run itself went smoothly, or the group had people that were willing to listen and we were able to overcome the rough parts.

Unfortunately, that bad ones tend to stand out more. Also, there are many people that have lost patience from previous bad experiences, and aren't willing to give people the benefit of the doubt in future groups.

Unfortunately there is no fix for "noob", and those that desire a fix for this in order to participate will likely not do so. They will, instead, likely go the route of premades like they should.

Groupfinder is not for hardcore players. Hardcore players do not belong on groupfinder as a general rule, and if they choose to go into a que for a PuG, they should understand what that means....

Namely that your likely running with "bads".

Premades are the domain of professional players. As they should be.

That said, if the intent is to increase the amount of folks that que for GF, they are more than likely going to be bads. This probably can not be avoided. So, how do you attract more bads?

You are probably not going to attract more hardcore players to GF regardless of ANY incentive.

Since 2.8 brings 16 player SM ops to the group finder, my expectation is that premades of less-than-16 will queue, with the remaining slots filled by solo-queuers.

So long as there is no "downbolster" (cross fingers), there would be enough good players (in this circumstance) to carry those that don't know what they're doing.

The first time I ever brought my Shadow Tank into an operation, I main tanked a pug SM TfB. The off-tank was in a hurry, ran ahead and pulled The Writhing Horror when half of us were still clearing the trash in the previous room. O.o

Fully half the dps, one of the healers and the off tank all died by the end of the fight. Despite this we still managed to kill the boss without a wipe.

I would tank FPs if they gave a cartel pack if tanks were needed, kind of like WoW's system of giving satchels to tanks for tanking pugs.

I would like to preface the rest of my post by saying: There is nothing wrong with the addition of tactical flashpoints like KDY, in fact I think it's a great way to earn experience points!

I am bringing this up, as I am sure many have done before me my concern that due to the nature of KDY (group composition and minimal conversation with NPCs) many players who would have otherwise queued for classic style flashpoints have opted instead to queue for KDY. This presents a problem particularly for dps characters (though I have even seen some healers complaining about wait times) that causes extremely long wait times when queuing for normals.

I would like to propose an incentive to encourage players to queue for, and finish normal flashpoints.
A few suggestions:

1. Increase experience gained by some substantial percent when players queue alone for normal mode flashpoints. This would increase the number of both tanks and healers queuing and perhaps provide a small decrease in wait time.

2. Implement cross server play for normal flashpoints, again increasing the pool of players available for flashpoints as well.

3. Remove roles from normal flashpoints and adjust each one accordingly. Similarly to KDY flashpoints would no longer require a tank or healer, allowing groups of four dps to tackle a flashpoint without a very long wait time, in fact wait times may even be similar to that of KDY.

4. Add more tactical flashpoints to the game while leveling. Sometimes repeatedly running the same flashpoint can become extremely tedious, this option would allow for a more diverse pool of instances for players to choose from, reducing this problem greatly.

I apologize if others have posted similar threads, I felt this issue was not exactly one that many post about.
They should create a way for someone like you to put money into something to get people to queue with you. Enable players to rent other players rather than another meta gaming reward system.

You guys are all missing the key issue. Flashpoints have restrictions on them for F2P players and like it or not, this game has a majority of F2P than subscribers. These folks are clearly selecting the best time to run their dailies/weekly to reach their limit.

Older players will purchase unlocks but those who are totally F2P won't and will wait until the following week. Removing this restriction is the only way to bring life back to the queue pops - for EVERYTHING, including Warzones
