I don't think this means what you think it means. Adding new gear into a video game is not morally wrong. They did not remove the valor rank from your battlemaster gear. For those that have the valor ranking, and don't want to hassle with buying/winning the recovered relics to purchase the new gear, that option is still available. Nothing about those armors has changed. Bioware simply put in a new way to "earn" that look. And with a better set, since it is adaptive and bound to legacy. This is the farthest thing from being morally wrong. And the fact that you call it morally wrong makes me question your morals in general.

Secondly, using the phrase "worked hard" for anything in a video game is laughable. It's a game. You're literally doing it for fun, or at least you're supposed to be. If it's not fun, then why do it? To have some arbitrary piece of gear that other people don't have? If that's the case then, congrats. You've wasted countless hours doing something you hate just to be able to wear certain gear to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet.

What about the people who actually worked hard to earn real money they spend in the cartel market? Does that not count because they bought the gear that way? Does that real and legitimate hard work not count because it was not done in game, but in the real world?

I think you need to take a look at your complaints and reevaluate what's important.

The satisfaction should come from the accomplishment itself, not being able to lord it over people and say 'look at me!'.

(Most people not only don't know the difference between the sets, they also couldn't care less.)

Those sorts of people have self esteem issues and go into titanic rages and become depressed as soon as you do something that in their minds diminishes their sense of self worth. To them it's inconceivable that a game company would do something to make money and therefore continue to be able to provide them with a place to play.

I have Valor 60 on 5+ characters. It's not hard. It's not work. And there is no problem with putting this very old gear somewhere else for people to enjoy.
Below this is my referral link. If you press it you get free stuff and I get free stuff. This makes you, me....and Bioware happy, but don't let that stop you!

Even though they did not remove the valor rank from my battlemaster gear, they added one exactly the same without the valor rank. That yields the same result as removing the valor rank. They will as well have removed the valor rank from it. They should have just removed the valor rank from the Battlemaster one. Atleast then they would not be destroying crafting. By making it adaptive and bound to legacy they just made it superior to the one crafters can make. Who will want the crafted one now? Its now useless. They should have made the crafted one adaptive instead. I would have been cool with that. The fact that it is the same as the crafted one bothers me even more than the valor rank.

Even if they had made it similar to the crafted one I would have been cool with it. For example, they made the dread seed armor similar to the empire version of war hero vindicators/war leader. But at the same time it stands out. They should have done that instead. What Bioware did, by making it exactly identical was not only wrong but pure laziness.

increasing valor rank takes much longer than getting the recovered relics. You can easily buy these relics from the gtn, since credits are easy to get. You can't buy a higher valor rank with credits. Therefore, it is a much longer task.
Please get your facts straight people. I don't mean to be offensive, but I feel like I am the only smart person left on the planet.

Lol.

Why is your sense of self worth ruined by players having more options? You have the reward of your hard work, why do you care about anyone else?

If you want them to bring really old gear back and make it adaptive armor and bound to legacy, then there is plenty of stuff that is not crafted and that does not have a valor rank. There's tons of cool columi, rakata, and tionese gear which has not been brought back in any form. Why couldn't they have used those instead?

And queing up with a team is an unrealistic option for me because I don't socialize with random players. That is just weird. I don't know any teams that que up together, nor do I want to. The Que for ranked warzones is totally glitched and needs to be fixed. I tried ranked warzones for months and it always by default puts me on the losing team. After the 100 times It has done this I can conclude that the team ups are grossly unfair. And this is not bad luck like people are saying. It would be statistically impossible to lose that many times in a row if the que ups were fair. That would be liking flipping heads 100 times in a row. It is so slim that it would never happen. It should be close to 50/50.

This is a serious glitch that needs to be fixed, unless there are a bunch of hackers that are manipulating it. Either something needs to be done to fix this.
Just like the saber glitch which only annoyed a few people? Seriously dude their are other more important things to worry about.

I agree adaptive gear is pretty awesome. So, why not make all war hero and battlemaster gear adaptive but keep the valor rank? This would be much better.
yeah except it was always useless the inital reason for that was back when crafted items where the only items that could have aug slots. something that's not been the case for forever
