Forget it if you have never run the instance, no one will tell you what is expected of you until after you've done something wrong.
Try saying my frist time here can you explain fights? you dont know what to do ask... I can explain every single fp in this game but I wont if nobody ask for it...

It's ok to ask if you're dps, but as tank/healer everyone expects you to know the content. Even if you've said that it's your first time doing the FP or you don't remember much about it and someone stops to write the strategy before the fight... BUT, there's always one Sentinel/Marauder/Sniper in the group that doesn't accept any delays and starts the fight. At this point you don't have time to read, you just have to go with the flow. If you do even one mistake that same Sentinel/Marauder/Sniper will start to mock you after the wipe.

I'm that mara when playing my tank (even as I'm a PT)

I just pull as long as the heal has at least 3/4 of his resorces available.
And it gets even worse in 16man sm ops because their just there to be facerolled
waiting for ...

Add MVP Votes to FP.

Add Good Tank & Good Heal Comms.

You get 1 per MVP Vote + 2 for completion. (of random queue with maximum of 2 players (one friend should be good for morale)

You can trade these at 10 Tankcomms or 10 Healcomms => 1 day of Subscription Status.

This is why I refuse to pug anymor as well. Noticing a trend here guys? My first tank I ran him until I got the gear I wanted and then that was it. I grew tired of players blaming everything that goes wrong on other players. Or pitching a fit when someone politely tells them it's their first time playing that FP and they'll need instructions on what to do for a boss. There's nothing Bioware can do to fix that.

Tanking comms gear is a sick joke for both levelling and end-game. The crafted 156 enhancements have better mitigation stats than the 168's and maybe even the 180's! Tanks are forced to run Ops for reasonable gear.

Awarding sub time is about the only incentive that would temp me to tank or heal a FP.

I wasn't talking about TANK-GEAR-COMMS.

The only thing I wanted to suggest: Give tanks more time-reward in an FP then they spent running it. IF they get the votes. So a tank spending his weekend in random queue would get another week of playtime... basically until the next weekend. If not more. All for the price of his nerves. Because Random Groups are the bane of tanking. Especially the overgeared 'comrades' DDs.

I've been noticing another thing now, ranged or melee dps saying "it's cool, I'll tank this", as if being the tank just means that your the one who gets aggro or starts the fight.
Which is only a small part of the formula, no?
I mean, what about shields and shield, absorption and defense stats?
Where are the tank abilities (taunts, defensive cd's, etc, etc)
They don't have any. So what would make them think a tank just holds aggro and thats it?

All classes that have tank tree get two taunts, spec doesn't matter.
Sentinel/Marauder has by far the best defensive CDs.
Some medium gear with cunning have Defense Rating/Shield Rating.

I only expect tank to know how to hold agro. All fights in fp arent that hard so its not that hard to explain fights. I always pug fp true gf running it whit guild would just be too easy. I pug fp every day and 99 times of 100 runs are smooth
